Are you kidding. I've seen Ponyo and it's cuter than Totoro by a mile. Ponyo is a little indomitable spirit. She's so persistent and cheery she imbues the film with a giddy infectious feeling of joy.

It's like cinematic candy and I love it.

Don't lie. You spent the whole time vomiting.

You need to do your own version of 2girls1cup. I volunteer make up the other half. We can have a Miyazaki and Disney marathon before hand and then we'll be as hard as gobstoppers and ready to go.

I didnt realize how much they are trying to Hollywoodtize this picture.  John Lassiter is involved in the English language version,as well as Matt Damon and Kate Blanchett.
And Betty White!!!! I'm so there.

Pixar guys have done Spirited Away and Howl english dubs. Before that Miramax did Mononoke and Disney retroactively dubbed all the old Ghibli movies for the dvds.

I tend to prefer the original Japanese dub, watching Howl in english is so weird and lifeless. The Kiki dub was pretty good and Spirited away is awesome in english.

If you get Spirited Away on DVD they have a whole feature on Miyazaki and Lassetter. They are friends and visit each other. Miyazaki brought over a massive Totoro bus.
