I was reading through an old Game Informer and was noicing the difference between the Wii-mote as first revealed as it is today.  They change what some of the buttons were called + and - were Start and Select) The power button from rectangular to circular.

But check out how the nunchuck connects to the mote:

*Gasps*  They had Wii Motion plus back then!   Nyaa They top of the remote was different as well.

I do remember that housing. I assume it was an oversized clip or perhaps had some reeling motion inside wherein the wire would retract into the device like Steel's balls suck back up into his body.

It doesn't make much sense for it to be motionplus as they would have just integrated it into the main unit.

Unless they wanted to defray the cost into the nunchuk attachment.  (I'm onl half-serious about all this BTW).
