Nice impressions, honestly for the first time since PS3 launched I feel like I'm missing out and that says a lot given games like LBP.

EDIT:

Do you prefer it to RE5?

Quick little notes that I've picked up on:

*Whenever you're with Chloe, and you see a pool of water, go swimming in it. It's great for two reasons - you get some awesome dialogue, and you may also get rewarded for it!

*I love how the journal works in the game. I love how you can access it at any time and flip through it, not only showing off solutions to puzzles, but seeing Nathan's commentary on various things is really quite cool. There's one in particular that got a good laugh out of me, but it's a reference to the original game, and also a spoiler, so I won't say it.

Really digging the game.

I still like the RE5 gameplay more, I love the RE4 stlye of up close and personal combat where every bullet counts. RE5 does have better boss fights and is really well done as well. But Uncharted 2 is better. It has co-op elements the entire game, you are never alone but its still single player (and you never need to worry about the AI cause they are invincible). There is a separate co-op mode to play with others, i wish RE5 went down this route instead. Also the setpieces in U2 are flat out better. It has a stellar online mode which RE5 does not. Uncharted 2 is the better game and I like it more than RE5. It's not RE4, its not MGS, but its right up there with some of the very best games I have ever played.

What about originality? I hear that it takes various aspects from some other games.

Every game out there does the same to an extent. Originality loses importance when the concept is executed right.

Eh, no. I think I'll take a pass on your "knowledge". The less people get to read the uninformed, self-righteous, opinionated shit you spit out, the better.

Your dismissive, pedantic response towards my "objectively wrong" statement without providing factual support rubbed me the wrong way.

^This is awesome.

To answer GG's question, at this point it copies directly from the first game. I guess it borrows elements from other games, but no game mixes them all together like Uncharted. So in the end the product is rather original. Uncharted 2 is the first game on steroids. So if you felt the first game borrowed elements then yes U2 borrows elements but I this point I see Uncharted having its own gameplay style.
