I suck at sneaking...and finding patches. As much as I was afraid of the change, Keifer isn't bad. I love the new alert system cause it provides a sense of terror and dread when spotted. Kind of like sneaking past zombies in TLoU. Character models look fantastic. My wife even commented on how realistic Snake appeared. I'd love to see the PS4 version in motion.
Wow! This game went nuts when it was time for the helicopter rescue! I chose to rescue the hostages first before Chico. I ran with one along the ledge and...Oh Crap, I lost my footing! Snake is hanging on the ledge and the prisoner is lost to the sea! Now the guards are alerted to my presence. I pick up another one and I'm off only to out him down every ten feet to engage in a firefight. And the helicopter music. Who would choose The Ride of the Valkrye as their theme? I love the smell of napalm...um, sorry.
This game also has the most dynamic, satisfying stealth gameplay Metal Gear has seen in some time!

Really? Because I thought it was staggeringly short and unsatisfying, feeling more like a cash grab than an honest-to-goodness installment in a beloved franchise.
Finally get to sink some time into this, wow this is a blast! I set the helicopter to play ride of the valkyrie when it comes to pick us up, so epic. This time I rescued all prisoners, they told me where one of the XOF patch was. There is so many hidden things around. I interrogated a guard that told me about the armory, where I got some mines. Smoke grenades are god tier, you can do so much with them. I went up to a guy and took his gun and in one smooth motion used it to kill him.
The time trials look to be super fun. I have yet to pull off a true stealth run, its way harder to do than in past MGS games. Only did two missions so far, so i have a long way to go. I couldnt even start Infamous, why would I when I have MGS to play.
Wait until you see what happens in the operative mission 3.....lmao
Even though I think this is a ripoff for what they are chanrging for it, AND that it should have been part of the real MGS5, it is a great showcase for where they are going with the game. I mean, if MGS5 is a giant ass open world where you can do all these different side ops and go about things how you want, like Ground Zeroes, its going to be an incredible game.

Yeah it should be $15. Or it should have had like PW amounts of side ops, and VR missions.
I have been playing non stop, did all the missions but the hidden one. Finally got fastest marking of all enemies on mission 2, what a pain in the ass. Gameplay is phenomenal, I cant get enough.
I absolutely love the music, licensed and original. I was very unfamiliar with Joan Baez's work so this was a treat. If this is a sign of things to come, Snake Eater might have a run for its money as best soundtrack of the series.
Eww, is that regenerating health...?

Yeah. believe me you need it.
Tonight I got humbled. This game is ridiculously hard if you try to be perfect. I haven't even tried hard mode yet and getting S ranks is a super pain, that is with all the helping stuff turned on. Oh and the trials, impossible. Trying to neutralize everyone in that intel mission, wtf. This is harder than doing the bike chase in MGS4 with no kills.

Who is Joan Baez? Is that the Here's to You guy.
I am about 15 hours in, I have S-ranked 3 missions. I have cleared two trials, one I am 36th place. I just unlocked the hidden mission (finding those XOF patches is impossible, had to look it up). I have yet to even try hard mode yet. I am still trying to find all the hidden objectives in each mission. I still need to do the trophy objective for a few.
Clearly I love the gameplay, its the best Metal Gear has ever been. Sneaking just feels right, organic. One of my biggest complaints about the series is that since MGS2 you can just tranq everyone easily and get by that way, well in this game its not so easy. Having a large area with patrols all over changes all that. Plus having no radar and no camo forces you to sneak like a normal person would, avoid sight lines, stay behind cover, etc.
The base does get tiring after a while. I know the base by heart already and soon I will know the placement of every guard. There is no way around the demo feel, as fun as it is it can't replace the feel of a full MGS game. I also fear the vehicle battles as the tank fight in this game is EXACTLY like Peace Walker. You run around in circles firing rockets at it until it blows up. That was fun the first few times in PW, but after the 50th vehicle mission I never wanted to fight a tank that way again. MGSV needs a more unique vehicle battles, like the tank battle in MGS1.
I have all missions opened up too...its definitely cool being able to check out the base at different times of day and in different weather. I would love to see snow but I guess that wouldn't make sense where they are. Surprised I don't miss the weapon/item inventory bar thing that MGS has always had....I honestly didn't even think about it being gone until now. The controls and menu system just work perfectly well in this game so you forget all about how it used to be.
Really can't wait for the full game. I'm interested to find out how the actual real game is going to be set up...one giant world, or just huge levels like this mission by mission? Many different locations, or only a few?

Many different locations with giant areas to explore. You will travel all over the world.
Should it be part of TPP, yeah I guess . I am sure some limited edition version will come with it included. Still I want to play MGS now. This is great for the fans. It should make the wait for the full game more bearable.
