Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Demo impressions - The most amazing PSP game I've played? YES!!!
Huh? Is this a new demo? Those areas weren't in what I played.
Oh there is a PSP DL Demo? I'm not one for Demo's but this is too newsworthy to miss.

Er, there's been a demo since last year's September, after TGS... And a while later the English version equivalent. But I dunno if he's talking of a new one.

Looks good ask.
Not having a PS2/3 I was cut out of the Metal Gear loop after 2.

One of the songs, actually. I guess you could say it's the theme song of the game.

I finally got a chance to download the MGS Peace Walker demo, and I came away quite impressed! The moment you start this game, you realize the quality and care that went into it. The production values and content is the most I've seen in a PSP game so far, maybe Monster Hunter Freedom Unite equaling it. But it's clear that Kojima wasn't just crazy to make a MGS sequel on a handheld. This game has all the markings of a true, full-blown MGS game and it is amazing to boot!
Presentation and graphics are top-notch, probably the best I've seen on the PSP so far. Better than Crisis Core, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Resistance Retribution, God of War Chains of Olympus, and Tekken 6, which these are some of the better PSP games. The cool thing about Peace Walker is that so far it puts gameplay first. Even though there are cut scenes, it goes by quick because they're unfolded like the MGS digital comic books and mixed with real-time in-game cut scenes in between. And as for graphics, it's pretty amazing how Kojima's team packed in so much detail in this pint-sized screen. Best of all, this game reminds me of MGS3 Snake Eater, which is my favorite MGS in the series.
As for controls, it felt really smooth and felt good. This was surprising for a PSP game but Kojima brilliantly made the controls so accessible that I had no trouble figuring out what to do or controlling Snake. Even without a 2nd analog stick, the aiming feels great. There's also auto-aim but Kojima cleverly withheld auto-aiming becoming a crutch so that the game won't be too easy. Auto-aim is easily used by pressing select button during the game and it is mostly used when there are a lot of enemies or when you're trying to escape. But when you want to aim more precisely, you have to aim manually, and the controls are precise and smooth.
So far from the demo, I can clearly understand why Famitsu praised this game so much. Sure there could be some controversy surrounding the perfect score, but they did get the other comments right. The game has high production values, has a lot of content for hours of play, and you definitely get your money's worth.
I'm usually not a MGS fan and I skipped out on Portable Ops, the first PSP MGS game. But this one sold me over. Now I can't wait for this game! I think it'll be one of the last great PSP games and every PSP owner AND MGS fan must play it!
