Totally agree with Yoshi's Island. I remember my jaw dropped when I saw that giant Bowser at the end.
Most artistic game? I'm tempted to say Journey or Limbo. Maybe Okami.
Once I start thinking about this topic I feel like when I was a kid being crushed by a huge wave at the beach. I would not know where to start.
