"But as soon as we got to the quarters, we had a tiebreaker... I had reach, She had flexibility... Guess that's another way to settle things."

New Favorite Quote from a game EVER! I'm gonna have to remember this line and use it myself! *With slight variation!*

Garrus has a big Turian Wang, apparently!  surpriselol

About to enter the Omega 4 Relay and take on the Collectors.

My god this game has taken me longer to beat than ANY other 360 game, it seems!

I absolutely love it, but I am soooooo ready to move on!

Hmmm... Don't know if I want to play Dragon Age 2 next --OR-- Alan Wake!

Not looking to play another shooter yet, but then again, back to back BioWare may be too much!

Input anyone?

Alan Wake may turn out to be one of those games I post about A LOT, so I am moving our discussion from the News section to my Forum Topic!

So far, so good!

It's funny, but this game just screams "REMEDY!"

There's just something unique about their graphical style and the way they approach a game. I haven't played Max Payne in years and years, but there's something about Alan Wake that instantly calls it to mind!

Exactly, and as someone who has loved both Max Paynes immensely, playing Alan Wake apart from that recognition you speak of there was also a sense of "I've really missed this!"

Playing Alan Wake, seeing the minute details included, in the use of the light and the interactivity of some of the environmental objects, again, it reminds me of Max Payne. People these days seem to have forgotten the jump in the level of detail that game brought to the PC and shooter games in general. Bullet time is sooo overused now that people look at Max Payne and think "Gimmick" but it ain't a gimmick if that's where it originated! Remedy is and always has been extremely talented. Why don't we see more of them?

I LOVE how each Chapter Starts and Ends like a Television show! I just finished Chapter 2!

I have come to two conclusions:

(1) Did this game borrow heavily from Deadly Premonition or vice-versa?

(2) When/If Vader ever gets a 360, this needs to be one of the first games he plays!

There's just something about strong narrative that draws you into a game and makes it THAT much more of a powerful interactive media than anything else!

Alan Wake does this to a level not often seen AT ALL!!

I love the whole idea of looking for and living a writer's manuscript. You just KNOW story is going to be a major focus of the game!

Add on top of all that FANTASTIC use of the whole "Light" based gameplay and the Suspense that is built when you are lacking in light. BRILLIANT!

The game is just a PLEASURE to play!!

You know when a game is good at doing what it sets out to do when it draws you in and starts to mess with your mind! I had the strangest feeling while playing one particular section of the game. In it, you are running from the Police, you are unarmed, running through the woods and you don't even have your usual Flashlight to guide and protect you. The Police encounter... something... I don't know what yet, but it attacks them. I was atop a hill escaping the police when I noticed a helicopter in the sky in the distance. It was dark, I was already freaked out by being defenseless and shot at by the police. The copter was flying funny. I though to myself: "That chopper is going down!" I was sincerely alarmed! You see it hit a mountain side, then fall to the ground off in the distance. I thought to myself: "Whoever is in there isn't going to get out." I saw the copter fall beneath the trees and held my breath. I was thinking: "Please don't explode. Please don't explode!" Sure enough, you see the fiery flash, then hear it a second or two later, just as it would in reality. It chilled me to the BONE! It felt in my heart, like it was something I had either witnessed before or experienced first hand. It seriously shook me! I don't recall anything like that ever happening in front of my eyes in real life. Maybe the copter reminded me of the plane on 9/11? There was just something about it I FELT and FEARED. THAT is an INCREDIBLE sign of EFFECTIVE game design!!

Good to know! A lot of people here love it too, Bugsie and Archie in particular! I'm probably going to have to play it over again myself. I am missing a few manuscript pages here and there and I HAAAATE that!  WinkWink
