Just played Tombs and Treasures on my NES a few days ago.  I try to play old console games at least once a week, sometimes more depending on the time of year.  Summer is a big time for me to go retro.

That's interesting. I find it much easier to go back to the 8/16-Bit games than I do the 32-Bit era games.

Oh I play old games all the time and yeah I like the 8/16 bit more. I just dont have those systems.

The problem with playing 8 bit games for me is that they are hard to "finish" they are more like arcade experiences where you try three times, die, start over. Or worse yet, have to write down passwords.

I do play 8 bit and 16 bit games at least every other weekend, but they are more for pick-up and play than for playing to completion.

I am very much in agreement.  When I got the Xperia Play I thought I'd play a lot of old PS1 games. I only found half a dozen I was remotely interest in playing once I began looking.

The oldest game I've beaten on the original hardware (most recently) was Sword of Hope II.  It was ROUGH, really, very ROUGH.  Like playing a game for a 286 PC.

It was beatable at least, but barely.  I had such strong nostalgia for the original that I was able to get through it.  And while I have a multitude of Gameboy formats to choose from I did it on the Original Gameboy that I bought back in 92.
