LOL

So, I recently got back to Viva Pinata. I bought the game a couple years ago, one of my first 360 games, actually, but only my eldest daughter played the hell out of it. For some reason I never had the time or drive to learn my way around the ropes of the game. Then Sophia (my youngest) entered the scene and decided the best way of improving the game's performance was by chewing the disc and scratching it against the pavement.

About a month ago, I bought the game again, sort of cheap as a best selling title, and finally got some time off to play it this past weekend. Now I'm hooked. I've easily put about 15 hours into it during the past 3 days, and am slowly starting to know my way around the intricacies of pinata luring/breeding. It's amazing because everything is connected. You have pinatas that you don't even know what they're good for, only to find out they attract or lure more rare, valuable ones into your garden.

I want to get back home already. Grinning

I bought it but like you didn't have the time or patience to play it for long.  I will buy it again one day.

It's a neat game, but I couldn't get into it. I did like hitting the Pinatas with a shovel, though. LOL

Leafos. She's some sort of an emo girl that dresses in leaves instead of black. LOL She welcomes and introduces you to the game, shows you some tutorials and offers some rather useless advice during your playing sessions.

There are a number of helpers that can be unlocked in time, which kind of make things less tiring for you. You have someone who can water plants and flowers, someone who can collect stuff and sell it for you, someone who scares evil pinatas away, and someone who cuts the weeds off, among others.

It has some sort of online, but it's severely restricted because of MGS focus on the family friendly aspect of the game. The game even includes an internet safety video for kids. Xbox Live is anything but restrictive regarding content, and the average Live user isn't renowned for his internet etiquette, so they didn't want pervs crashing into kids' gardens to talk about wangs and shit. Online here only means that you can send gifts to your friends.

Quick update:

I'm hooked. Grinning I've been playing only this game throughout the past week, easily 25 hours. I'm past the part where you have to reach the in-game database to find out which seed are you holding and am delving deeper and deeper into the intricacies of rare pinata breeding and mining.

I got this bad boy recently:

And managed to achieve Master rank in breeding these weirdos (rather tricky):

Almost 50 hours in and I have only been breeding land pinatas. I have a whole new garden already waiting for aquatic ones, and yet another one for trees, flowers and insectoid pinatas.

It's a shame Edgecrusher doesn't use the forums more, I remember when he played this game, he loved it.
