I have been wondering this, what is the proper way to clean the controlers, more so stuff with screens on them. How do you clean the Wii U pad? Or a Vita? I see some smudges on the screen and I wipe it with a cotton shirt but that seems to simply move the smudge around. I am afraid to actually wash it with anything.

So what do you do?

I use a cleaning cloth for eyeglasses. I dip one corner in a little bit of water, rub the entire screen, and then dry it with the non-wet portion of the cloth. No chemicals, and it works great everytime on my Kindle and 3DS. Same with the rest of the controller.

Like a civilized ape, I CLEAN MY HANDS BEFORE USING THE CONTROLLER.

Therefore, I never need to clean my controllers.

Now, on the topic of cleaning my handhelds, I usually schmear the screens across my sweat-beaded brow, after a hard days work, ice-cold beer in hand.

I clean my hands before playing but I still have to clean my controllers. I usually use disinfective wipes.

That makes so much sense I feel stupid not thinking of it. How about for screens?

I try to wash my hands each time but I forget. And I have a dog that loves bothering me so I touch her and then the controller.

I use those wet wipes that you would use for a pair of glasses. Just cleaned off my Wii U pad the other day before starting Pikmin...it was dusty as hell and the screen had finger smudges all over it. Now it looks brand new. No matter the controller, they always tend to get grit and dirt built up on them at some point and the wipes work better than anything I've used.

You can get sprays for glasses you wear or screen cleaning kits for PC screens, use those.
