I will admit it, this game looks fantastic.

Somebody save this quote.

Don't save it, or when Vader picks it up for $5 a few years from now I'm in for some shit when it doesn't live up to expectations. Nyaa

-But I am looking forward to it, in the same way you might look forward to a relaxing vacation... or, like, a nap.

:what:

Why must they write like that? They enjoy it, yet add some sarcastic line at the end.

At least this was true:

"Blue World is still really beautiful. Fish, dolphins, sea turtles, whales, and other ocean life swim around in an awesome display of aquatic fauna. There's something really relaxing about just swimming around and enjoying yourself. The fish move around realistically in schools, and everything has a level of detail that is impressive on the Wii."

You PS3 guys can get the pan-asian version of Aquanaughts Holiday - in English and region free.

This is Oceane, daughter of the Costeau like old man who owns the R and R diving service. And just like when you take real pics, sometimes the characters blink when you take them. Grinning Or maybe she's just shy?

I've been trying to take wide, zoomed out shots to show how the fish count has increased, but the lens isn't wide enough to show them all. When these are all moving about independently, it's pretty cool.

Going back to play the first, it's going to be very noticible.

Can't use it.(yet)  Read a bit about it, not sure how good it is. Have you tried it?

See, this drives me nuts with cameras in games. ( well, pretty much just this game)  I can't afford fancy lenses - not a lot of  wide angle ones, no tilt shift stuff, no big zooms, macro and no esoteric fish-eye stuff.  A wide angle would be great for this game and maybe a close up lens if the models could look ok. It's like having cars in GTA but just giving you a couple cheap and fuel efficient ones. What - I can't even afford a souped up camera in my video games?

The camera has changed a little, for the worse. In the first game you could choose your focus point by literally pointing in real time and clicking to take your shot.

In EO2 you have to choose and set your point, then take the pic after movement.

I have to say that the jukebox is pissing me off.

There is no good access to the in game licenced tracks.

I can live without SD card MP3s but having to play in silence a lot is starting to grate.
You can only access the jukebox once you've completed the story mode by buying it off Nancy.

You can only access the jukebox on nineball island. So for instance I set a track to play. Then I have to go through a load to go to a dive spot, then another load to load the actual location.

Then if there is a cutscene or minor event, the music track cuts out, the in game midi plays for the section and then instead of restarting the tune you were listening to, it just leaves you in silence and back to the in game track which triggers at certain moments.

There is nothing in the options to do anything about this.

I hope there is some underwater MP3 that nancy sells which fixes this.

If you do want to change a track you have to go back to the boat, go back to 9 ball island, then depart for the next area, then load the actual dive.

Grrrrrrrrrrr.

I don't understand -if you have a fish in the top right of your camera screen how do you focus on it ?

Well, if you click a creature it locks on where you have that info bar at the bottom like the first game. Then if you enter camera mode it auto-tracks the focus point on the animals eye socket. Which isn't very helpful as these creatures sure love to swim about and turn their rear end to you.

In EO1 you could change the camera in the advanced settings then just point and click like a lightgun shooter and the pic would focus where you had pointed.

In EO2 you would change the camera in the advanced settings and instead of light gun point and click you would point and click to set your focus point, changing it from the default center to say, top right.

That square sits there in the top right, regardless of how the fish moves and you sort of have to use the very loose bounding box to move that now fixed box over a moving target. It can be very difficult sometimes. This is all in zoom/focus mode though.

In free diving/swimming its easier to just get out the camera and you can still swim about and get the perfect shot.

More pics from my latest dive session.

Dang, I'm at 24 hrs already and barely scratched the surface. I've found there are secondary events, for instance when you dive a location again you get more events and cutscenes.

Also the dive partners you choose allow you to do different things, for instance dive with Oceane and she can give you a guided tour of the area, Hayako can show you all the event/cutscenes again, GG gives you extra salvage capacity.

This room is wow. The detail, considering its SD.

I discovered this underwater cove type place.

These are sea goldies, damn the focus.

This pic is very poignant, could be considered a spoiler.
