There's no auto cut off point. Just when it becomes a chore to watch more. So even shows which aren't initially great that are watchable, get watched and can then get better, like Bleach, original FMA and Fairytail.
Cowboy Bebop I just could not like in the slightest, it was cold 70s style, Lupin-ish designs. And it was random chases/fights, barely any story, abominable music. I made it through 4 episodes, about 1 hour 25 minutes worth. Is there some point where it gets better? Where the stories are more involved? Is there any arc to it? I may try again at some point but I'm more likely to try Chrono Crusade again.
Hmm, I should probably include the Japanese transformer series in the list.
With Cowboy Bebop there are only five episodes that follow the main over-arching storyline.

That will make it easier to watch. What do people like about it btw? In general what is it praised for? I saw very little of it so I'm interested in why it's so loved.
From what I remember there is the main character in this suit and the whole way he moves and is animated, what he wears and all is very retro - juxtaposed against the space theme. Yet he's some kind of martial arts master.
The only reason the Marvel animes are higher than other stuff is because I managed to at least finish watching them. The Iron man anime is shite and the Wolverine one isn't much better.

I mean, on your best to worst list, how far down the list are shows that you dislike or hate, rather than like. You could have hated everything below Brotherhood for all I know.

Everything: the characters, animation, writing, dub and especially the music.

I dont really hate any of them, more like "I can't watch any more of this" but in terms of couldn't like at all I think original Hellsing (which I may return to post Ultimate) and Cowboy Bebop. Also I'm slowly rewatching FMA original and it may drop below Blood + and Hellsing Ultimate.

I dunno, the parts of the show I saw bored the hell outta me, too, except that they were pretty and the dog was cute. But the film was fun, and a lot of animes start off kinda shit anyway.
I wish they would make explicitly clear at what point in the series you're supposed to watch the movies at. You know, unless it's a standalone movie. The OVA thing was confusing for a while too.

For Cowboy Bebop the movie is a midquel and it takes place between Episodes 22 and 23.

Rewatching Original FMA, it only gets better in the Marco episodes, before that mostly it's episodic stuff.
Steins Gate, I have 6 episodes left to watch and it's going to have to be an amazing set to reach anything like the critical acclaim for it I've read online. It's one of those games/films you see and think, yeah it's good but it's not THAT good. I feel like it glosses over the CERN stuff far too easily and doesn't really concentrate on what it's good at. And that is those moment which show the ties and bonds of friendship between the characters. Those moments are either too few and far between or not really exploited in the way that other shows can.
Shows like Clannad, Angel Beats and even Fairy Tail.
Oh yeah, it probably hurts it, because I've seen the superior movie: The Girl Who leapt through Time, which handles this stuff a lot better.
I really want to wholeheartedly love Code Geass but I can't. It's still a good/great anime but would be so much better if not for this fucking turd brained idiot Suzaki in his special white better-than-everyone-elses-mech.
He's an idiotic character who I want to punch in the face everytime i see him, even the cat hates him in the anime. A giant douche who fights for the Britanians despite all the shit they pull. He's the male equivalent to a battered wife who keeps going back and standing up for her abusive husband.
And he also foils and ruins a huge part of the show, Zero's Death note like machinations are unfurled by a brainless idiot in his super special mech who just wades in and manages to fuck everything up. And why? Because he has a SUPER SPECIAL MECH.
Can we please stop with the super special mech trote in anime PLEASE!
