Do you spooge your pants over Mario Galaxy in HD?

Does your Wii look like roasted crap on an HDTV?

Lack a normal TV to play on?

How committed are you?

Nintendo Wii Upscaler
Upscale Your Wii UpTo 1080p And Improve Your Wii's Graphics
Also Compatable With DVD's, Satelite TV, Cable TV And Other Non-HD Consoles

This fantastic new piece of kit will soon be available to buy from our online store. This unit uses innovative technology to sharpen and improve the graphics generated from your Nintendo Wii console.

The unit converts an SD image to HD and during the conversion process it improves the quality of the image to provide a higher grade/more defined HD image, rather than just a straight forward SD to HD conversion. Some of the picture and sound improvement processes during the conversion are:

  • Motion Adaptive per pixel video de-interlacing (HD 1920 X1080 max)
  • Multi-directional diagonal filter for video de inter-lacing
  • Automatic film, video, and video-over-film detection
  • Automatic film 3:2 and 2:2 pull-down detection
  • Adaptive Image Contrast Enhancement
  • Edge anti-aliasing
  • 4-field full resolution SD and HD processing
  • HQV Noise Reduction for SD input
  • CODEC Noise Reduction (Mosquito and Block noise)

Another bonus about this product is that the input format of the video signal is not an issue. So, whether it is scart, component or a simple RCA plug in a scart adapter, the picture quality will still be improved and converted to 1080p, providing that the minimum input video resolution is 480p. This product not only acts as a Wii upscaler, but can in fact upscaler all kinds of devices such as DVD players and other gaming consoles.

http://www.wiinintendo.net/2009/03/02/digiwi-wii-composite-cables-to-digital-hdmi-720p/

Digiwi has been verified to convert composite signals from the analog composite Wii cables to digital HDMI 720p!
Finally Wii owners can play their Wii on digital TV’s and experience the depth of colors and detail only available through digital HDMI.

There is also a component to HDMI adapter, both sell for 77$:

In an email I asked if they had any comparison screens, none yet, but I was told:
” This upconverts beautifully from composite analog (the lowest interlaced video signal) to HDMI. Component YPbPr Video has HD capabilities but is an analog signal. The DigiWi / DigiBox also converts analog to digital 720 progressive.
We expect reviews soon.”

I have a Standard TV and will probably not invest in a HDTV for at least a few more years.  I'm cool with the Wii as it is for the time being, though the SMG footage was gorgeous.

That's seemingly a very cool piece kit.

$77, though? Meh, it's a higher resolution. Woopdedoo.

I found some cheaper options on ebay but the problem is there are no reviews on the subject. Some gaming site or mag has to get off their asses and road test some of these things to see how it works. There are variables, input for instance, what cables you use, whether it only works with a progressive input.

And then questions about lag or the quality of the upscaling, audio etc.

I need reviews.

Huh, this one has a full refund if you aren't happy within 7 days.

The two customer reviews are good:

http://hdcompany.co.uk/product_reviews_info.php?products_id=41&reviews_id=8

Recently bought a new HD home cinema system including a 40inch Samsung LED Backit LCD TV. The TV isn't thick enough to have a native scart socket so I had to use a Scart to EXT convertor (inc with the TV) to connect my SKY+ box. Reviews I had read before of the TV highlighted that it would show up SD picture inputs to some degree and this plus using the convertor meant the picture on my TV channels through the Sky+ wasn't that great. I had always planned to upgrade to SKY HD but was horrified to find out I had an estimated 2 months wait for the new box.

I was therefore extremely pleased to find this website and this product to tie me over until the HD box arrives. It arrived in quick time and perfect order and was a doddle to set up, taking 2 minutes at most. The picture quality from my SKY+ box is vastly improved and my TV is reporting the 720 resolution. Even though for me this is just a stop gap it is well worth the purchase for the improvement in picture quality. If you have an HD TV and Sky+ but have no plans to go SKY HD then is simply a must buy as stated on the description. Even just for two months in my case its well worth it and when my Sky HD box finally arrives I will keep it for use with a Wii.

Fantastic product and fantastic service. Highly recommended.

It arrived, I plugged it in and sat down to watch some real quality from my dvd and Topfield PVR. I wasn't disappointed, the up scaling really took the quality upwards.
Wii really looks good via this

Thanks Gary & co, really did the job well

$77 is cheap for that, if I knew it would work and Amazon sold it, I'd get it in a heartbeat.

Seems like a lot of expense and hastle to me.

It's too bad Nintendo didn't at least support 720p with Wii. But that's Nintendo! Epic cheapasses! LOL

Yeah, that's the thing. Nyaa

But if it was say in hardware with a special version of wii, people I think would jump on it.

I might try out that one with reviews simply because of the 7 day refund thing. I can always get my money back and test it out. The good thing about that one is that it works via SCART.

SCART wont mean much to non-euros, it's a connection, a high quality one, but because it doesn't deliver progressive it means that the scaler can upscale anything, whereas some of these upscalers with component inputs require 480p and not all consoles or inputs put out 480p and not all games support it.

This means that the product above would work with my Dreamcast, N64 etc too.

No, it's 480p here or 576i on Wii here. You can get PAL progressive with dvd players etc.

That's a shame. I think it's the same here. The PS3 does 576P, though. I wonder if Singaporian wiis do too...

...

What people? Madworld proved there are no significant number of people who care about games on the Wii. All the moms don't need to see their overweight Mii's in HD.

Vader and Edge show that there are those who care about games on the wii, but don't buy them! Nyaa
