Arcus Odyssey is a fun action-RPG that I rarely hear mentioned. I had it back in the day and enjoyed it.
Insector X is a solid sidescrolling shoot 'em up.
It looks pretty good, so maybe I'll give it a chance.
Landstalker is pretty cool. Oh the Beyond Oasis is a Zelda like game also good.
It's hard for me to recommend some of the games I played as a kid on genesis cause what was fun for me then might be horrible now. I enjoyed Quackshot, a Donald Duck game. Evander Holyfield boxing was a really good boxing game at the time. Want a weird pinball game play Crue Ball, based on motley crue
Yeah, Landstalker is cool too. I can't seem to get the hang of the platforming, though. It has a Japanese only sequel called Lady Stalker, which I've not tried but find the title kind of amusing.
I did not enjoy any Genesis games except for some sports titles and some ghetto-Lemmings.

Really? Genesis was my primary console that Gen. I had about twice the games for it than I had for the SNES.
I turned 18 shortly after Sonic 1 came out. I was working full time and doing overtime too, so I invested heavliy in Sega Genesis, Sega CD and 32X and SNES that generation. The 16-bit generation is still my favorite. Just hit at the perfect time for me.
Popful Mail - 2D Adventure JRPG for the Sega CD developed by Falcom. Just be sure to download the "Unworking Designs" hack as the game was localized by Working Designs who loved to make games difficult for the sake of difficulty. They doubled the HP of every enemy and halfed your attack power. It's dumb, play the game with the patch that makes the game just like the Japanese version.
Yuu Yuu Hakusho: Makyo Toitsusen - A fighting game developed by Treasure on the Yuu Yuu Hakusho franchise. Is basically Street Figther meets Super Smash Bros.
One of the site's forefathers.
Play fighting games!
Obviously I know all the big ones that have been repeatedly ported by Sega in all of the collections they've been putting together since the days of the dreamcast. I know all the Sonic games, Streets of rage 2, Shinobi 3, etc. But I'm curious if there's anything that's a little more under the radar that I might have missed.
Anyway if you got a suggestion, send it my way. Muchos gracias.
