Action Games Without Guns
As for Uncharted 2, I think it strikes a good balance. The shooting in it is just as good as Gears of War and the platforming is excellent as well. I think it's the best of both genres in one and works real well.
Anyway, back to the topic, I think all the games I play have some kind of shooting in them, with the exception of games like Brutal Legend which you fight with a guitar and big axe.
Oh, and I don't know if this counts but Ghostbusters was a fantastic game without guns. Yeah, you shoot proton weapons but they're not bullets!

Now Playing: Golden Sun Dark Dawn, God of War Ghost of Sparta, and DKC Returns
Having played 2/3 those games I don't think it made a huge difference to me. Mirror's Edge shouldn't have had any action in it at all, though.

Yeah, game should have been about faith at an internet cafe, hacking and then cutting herself.
Well Heavy Rain really has no gunplay in the traditional sense. I really enjoyed it. A game that was all about guns, but still totally unique Borderlands I'm totally loving, it is what you expect and not all at the same time. You will Love it Aspro.

While that would have been cool, it should have focused entirely on the free-running, and if they had to have combat then it shouldn't have been some clunky half-arsed system that only really messed up the flow of the levels.
Ninja Gaiden has no guns. Neither does NMH. Or God Hand. Yakuza or any other number of brawler type action games.

This year, three of the most enjoyable games I've played have been a little unique, in that they were action games that featured (almost) no guns.
= Mirror's Edge (you could play most of the game without guns).
+ Batman: Arkham Asylum
= Infamous (okay so you shoot massive fucking lightning bolts out of your hands, but not guns)
I found these games to be authentically enjoyable and didn't ever crave my goto weapons (sniper and shotgun) -- though it would be hilarious to replay those games with just those two weapons.
Guns are kind of a crutch for action games, and I wonder how much better (interesting) a games like Uncharted 2 would be if you had less gunplay...
What do you guys think? And do you have any other current gen first or third person action games that rely on something other than the magic death stick for fun?

Small footnote -- I'm not anti-gun in video games, I'm an FPS addict, have been for many years.
