Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors news
On July 22, 2011, Mill Creek Entertainment announced that they had acquired the rights to the series and plan on releasing it in its entirety in 2012. They subsequently announced that they plan on releasing Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors - Volume 1 on DVD in Region 1 on February 14, 2012. This 3 disc set will contain the first 32 episodes of the series.[8] They will also release a 10 episode best-of collection on the same day.
Previously, Shout Factory had only released half the episodes, so hopefully Mill Creek will release the remaining episodes.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
You know The Centurions? The 80s kids tv series that has never been on dvd, ever?
I just stumbled across this listing on Lovefilm and it says that it's coming soon.
Starring Michael Bell, Jennifer Darling, Vince Edwards, Ron Feinberg
Genres Animated, Children, Television
In the near future, an evil genius the cyborg Doc Terror, seeks to conquer the Earth. He is assisted by Hacker, the cyborg sidekick and an army of Doom Drones. There were two types of drones:
Traumatizers - the most commonly seen drones are walking robots with laser blasters for arms. Strafer - A flying robot armed with missiles and lasers.
Later, a wheeled Drone with a large screen and cannons as well as a submarine drone were added. Doc Terror and Hacker are able to fly by swapping their purely robot half for a Strafer missing one set of wings. They are joined on many occasions, starting with the first episode, by Doc Terror's daughter Amber.
At each turn their evil plans are thwarted by the heroic Centurions. The Centurions are a team of men dressed in specially created exo-frames that allow them (upon shouting "Power Extreme") to fuse with 'incredible' assault weapon systems, becoming what the show calls man and machine, Power Xtreme! The end result is a weapons platform somewhere between a hard-suit and a mecha
I just ran across this and the nostalgia almost brought tears to my eyes. I had completel forgotten about it. I used to have a life sized Rupert teddy that a family member made for me.
You guys have seen the Family Guy Star Wars episodes right?
Did you also know that the last episode of Pinky and the Brain were Star Wars spoofs?
Episode 65 "Star Warners"
The final Pinky and the Brain episode, which includes many of the Animaniacs cast, is a parody of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. Pinky and the Brain (as 3-PinkEO and Brain2-Me2) plan to use the Mega Star for their world domination plans. A running gag involves Brain2 being mistaken for a refrigerator and other household appliances.
Did any of you watch the Land Before time as a kid?
I did. But I didn't know that they made a whopping 11 sequels.
Anyway I caught the TV series yesterday, the animation quality is pretty superb for TV animation and I just read that it's a fairly recent show, starting in 2007.
As a kid? I already had big, hairy balls at that time. I hated it, btw.
When was the last time you saw Pinky and the Brain? It's still rerun.
How much do you remember of this show? I ask because I used to watch it obsessively as a kid, but find it all the better watching it now as an adult. For a start it's whip smart and has a wickedly dark edge like the way Brain always wants to "hurt" Pinky or the schemes which have him taking over a tobacco company to get kids hooked on nicotine.
It's hilarious and experimental in many ways too, not afraid to suddenly drop them in different time periods with no kind of time machine mechanic. It even has sung musical parts, done like classic Hollywood musicals only with hilarious songs. The music is also really excellent and orchestral.
And it reference so many things that you wouldn't get as a kid, like Scorcese movies, or Spielburg and Ted Turners Hollywood power - or Aliens.
It's also very satirical and points wicked fun at concepts we've come to routinely expect in everyday life.
Check out some of the plotlines from the episode guide
"Schpiel-borg 2000"
Brain creates a robotic replica of Steven Spielberg as part of his world domination plans. The episode starts out as a clip show hosted by Steven Spielberg himself, which covers such aspects of the series such as the writing, the characters, and how much Steven himself loves his creation. It is revealed when that it is only a robot when it exclaims "...I'm getting goose-bumps just thinking bout it.Naf!Poit!Zort!"
Also I just got Conan the Adventurer complete series on dvd
Conan the Adventurer is an American animated television series adaptation of the literary character, Conan the Barbarian, created by Robert E. Howard in the 1930s. Produced by Jetlag Productions and Sunbow Productions (Transformers and G.I Joe guys), the series debuted on September 12, 1992, ran for 65 episodes and concluded on November 22, 1993.
Somehow I can't picture how Conan could be faithfully translated to an animated series. The man just wants to kill, slay and fuck and be left alone most of the time.

I just re-read what I wrote.

I used to watch the show as a kid and it was awesome but I never saw how it all ended, I think I missed half the episodes.
Some of the best animated shows are made by the same guys, Sunbow and Marvel Productions.
They made Transformers (original 80's phenomenon) , G.I Joe (original 80's phenomenon), Visionaries, which was like Transformers with Medievil Knights that could transform into magical beasts. They made the awesomely fun Defenders of the Earth, Jem - Truly outrageous, Care Bears original 80s series, Conan the Adventurer and more.
"When was the last time you saw Pinky and the Brain? It's still rerun."
A few days ago. Wasn't a very good episode of it, though, and Pinky sounded different to what I was used to. Did the voice actor change at some point?

I'm not sure. Doing some research it seems that several different animation studios did the work on the episodes so they must have alternated on that.

Ah okay. Also the girl wasn't in it. Wasn't a great loss, but did make the episode play out quite differently.
I watched an 80s TMNT episode last night. And they changed the Raphael voice actor
Still, watching it reaffirms my opinion that it's the most disappointing series to go back to. It's just not very good. Needs to be more epic, less clownish.

It'd be generic shit if it was more epic and less clownish.

Not really, it needs to balance the action and humour more like Transformers of other 80s shows. Most of the stuff in TMNT is slapstick and most of it unfunny.
I bought Legion of Superheroes
I saw 7 episodes on TV and I liked it. I actually did not know about the Legion till I saw this cartoon. It's a famous DC comic book set in the future. They bring superman from the past to the future to help them fight the cosmic threats. It's pretty decent, like most of DC Animated shows. I hear they only released volumes 1-3 though and nothing else on dvd even though there are 2 seasons worth.
