Nope. No PS3. Is it coming to 360?

If its not on PSN I wont bother. No way I paying retail for a fish game. I know its harsh but too many games out. If its on PSN for like $15 then sold instantly.

Now lets talk about the game aspect though. This version benefits greatly from being on the PS3, its basically a visual experience so the graphics mean a lot. But as far as I can tell Endless Ocean actually has plenty of content, it actually has a good game component to it. Does this game do the same?

Some guy on GAF says he prefers this to endless ocean, because of visuals. There aren't many previews I've seen of the game. All I know is that it has a virtual enclyclopedia like EO and you can ride in a sub.

You know endless ocean launched at a budget price. You can get it for $15 by now I assume, so if you are price sensitive, it's good to know. Doesn't look great on Hdtvs though Sad

It has good visuals and it's more than just the visuals that make the game, the IR and simplicity, exploration and expanding map, environments, music, SD card support. All sorts.

There are several Aquanaughts Holiday videos here:

Bunch of stuff at PS3 Fanboy here:

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/tag/aquanauts-holiday/

It's really hard to find info on this game.

So this game is out?

GG Endless Ocean is not $15 anywhere, believe me its a game I would pick up in a heartbeat at $15. For some damn reason it doesn't drop from $30.

That is true. It's been $30 in every store in my city since it came out. Even Amazon.com is still selling it at $30.

That's a good price, same as it is over here. Which is half of what a normal Wii game costs brand new and about 1/3 of the cost of a new 360 game over here.

You can get it a few dollars cheaper from amazon sellers, but I found quite a few cheaper on american ebay:

Depends if you mind used or not.

Shut it!

GAF impressions:

"Wow, I already finished the game. I still like the game, but it's not a deep experience at all. I know I have a whole slew of fish still to discover, but even then it all feels a bit on the light side. The technical side of the game is decent enough, but again not impressive enough to be truly immersive (for instance: fish don't react to anything...at all) and the 4-sounds minigame is more annoying than anything else. I'm not gonna count the horrible (yet hilarious) translation as a downside, because the game hasn't even been released in English-speaking territories.

I don't wanna come down too hard on the game, because it really is a nice and relaxing, non-taxing game and it's pretty much unlike anything I've personally played yet. But when it comes down to it, the few hours it takes to complete the game don't really justify the €50 I payed for it. They could've done so much more with it, but I guess that would take a bigger budget.

I'm glad I have the game and I still recommend it, but I hope that when another one of these comes along there's a bit more to it. If so, I'm there.

/edit: also, I just ordered Hakuna Matata (Afrika) because I feel like playing another one of these games."

*

"When playing at a normal pace, it takes you about the same time to finish the missions as any other game these days. 15 hours perhaps ?

Also, the big schools of fish respond to your sub and to bigger fish. And the bigger fish turn around if you bump into them.

But it's good most fish don't care about a sub hanging above them. Would it be more fun if they all disappeared if you wanted to take a closer look ?
You could also complain about the lack of dirt and sand in the water, when you're grinding the ocean floor. But again, it wouldn't be much fun without any visibility.

I understand your complaints though and largely feel the same way. But what I played was fun and well worth the €38 I paid for it (you need a better webshop: YesAsia), and I'm glad it was in so-so-English, and not in Chinese or Japanese."

*

"Got the game in yesterday and I'm loving it so far. Just very simple and relaxing gameplay. Just the atmosphere of it all is very soothing. After playing so many supposed big titles that didn't do anything for me like GoW2 or PoP, this game has me so much more excited than those two games combined"

*

"Man this game is great. It is a great change from shooting and killing things, totalluy relaxing. I love the exploration and the whodunit story. My kids were facinated watching me, too bad they didn't see the Gret White and Right Whale, they were in bed Happy

Now I'm stoked for Afrika too.."

More GAF Impressions:

*
"I just got this game for Christmas and I absolutely love it! But then again, I loved Ecco series and Treasures of the Deep and Everblue 2, I just love the underwater genre period.

But yeah, its pretty short to get to the credits (10 hours?), but it'll let you play more afterwards and you only unlocked the game's other half that's full of side quests and possibly more fish/treasures to find. I got excited at this. The game seem to really open up when you get this far.

And yeah, I agree with another poster that the 4 sound singing is really annoying, but mind you, the initial contact is usually just one song composition for you to unlock this particular fish to make contact to again later. And when you do, you'll notice that they have these numbers from "00" - "20" which indicates their levels of songs. Each time you passed their song, they level up and the song gradually get more and more longer and complicated. Taking it from me (I'm deaf), the songs are easy til you hit somewhere in 10s and 9s. :

I suppose its easier for those with hearing to recognize the sounds by the buttons instead of looking on screen for shapes (they go by too fast) but even then, I thought I heard that the sounds aren't exactly sounding like your own sounds so you couldn't really replicate it if you wish to memorize it."

300 screens here:
Hmm, Endless Ocean took 19 hrs or so to see the credits, but there is so much more to see if you are a completionist. I guess these games are about exploring, relaxing and discovering.

I'm definitely picking this one up if I ever see it. It took me ages to find a copy of EO.

Well i still have no earthy idea how to get this game but GG, from reading the gaf impressions does it sound like Endless Ocean. From what you described it sounds like Endless Ocean is a much bigger game.

Dmnm, 10 hours is short, but if the actual ocean is big and interesting it shouldn't really matter.

Well it took 20 hours to see the ending, if you can call it an ending in Endless Ocean. But with these types of games, you get out as much as you put in as it were. So its more about the experience I suppose. If you are into Aquanaughts or EO, then you will explore and soak it in and it depends on whether you are obsessive about collecting and seeing everything. I saw the credits in EO and put in another 26 hours on top of that, so it may very well be the same with Aquanaughts.

If you want this game I hear that pan asia.com sells the Asian version with english language option. I think the link is in the first post. Just make sure you dont get the japanese version.
