Oh, I’ve been looking all over for this thread and it was right under my nose the whole time.
Terrible episode, terrible season. I was hoping it was leading to something that made sense but these writers clearly don’t care anymore. Characters completely butchered, Jaimes story makes zero sense. Tyrion with Varys makes no sense. The show establishes that scorpions are dangerous last episode and completely ignores that this episode. Jon has been a mindless zombie for a while now.cersei gets a “good” death, we waited 8 years for that?! And then you switch final bosses at the last moment. Dany was done so poorly that it doesn’t work as it should.
The direction was superb and as usual it’s a fun watch. Clegane bowl was completely pointless and was like a lightsaber duel in mustafar. They captured the terror of it all but they have a lot of work to do next episode to make it make sense.
I wonder why the creators were so determined to just finish this? Why didn’t they try to do this with more episodes?
As far as the spin-off series go, I think the best thing they can do is set them for five or six seasons but no more. It just gets too hard to keep a cast around for more than that.

Lucasfilm will sack their asses like Trevorrow.

Nobody is ruining Star Wars. It was never actually good.
I like most of the season, just thought it was a little rushed. Dany’s Heel turn was a little too quick seeing as it looked like she and Jon were perfect for each other last season.
But how on Earth was the Hound vs. The Mountain pointless? That's been building since season 1.

Because there were zero stakes to it. It was literally a fight just to have a fight at the end of the world for those two. They were all going to die, the outcome had no impact ON ANYTHING. It was just a random fight. Why cause terrible writing, they had bulletpoints on what needed to be done but fuck all to how they get there.
There is a petitiion over 500k so far signed it for them to redo this last season.
