I had the PC version of TR2 back in the day, running smoothly on highest graphics settings, but the game just wasn't fun to play. I loved the 1st one, but didn't like any of the sequels, until Crystal Dynamics took it over.
I’ve never played any of the old school Tomb Raiders. Not a one. TR 2013 was my first.
TR2 is pretty widely considered the best of the old school TR games.

This makes Jeff Gerstmann crave a whopper with cheese to wash away his sorrow.
I just loved the activity level of it really (Gamespot, IGN and 1UP). It was like going through an exotic crowded marketplace everyday. But they once you were there every day you really got to know about 800-1200 people on a name basis and who they were (much like a school experience).

That's what I used to like about it too. Until it got too strict and PC to even joke around anymore. The VG Press in contrast, feels like we're all stuck on Mars in different areas. Once in awhile, we all meet up on some random hilltop and share a laugh.
^Yeah I think for me, well I know for me it's my work that gets in the way of visiting. I have no time to visit the site during my work day (and it's not my style anyway to use work computers for personal stuff -- it used to be).
But I am making an effort to come here more often as I do appreciate the personalities here greatly.

And yeah the heavy modding there got old. conversely though 1UP was loose as hell and not to it's benefit.
