how have you guys gotten further than me? I spent two hours in the forest unsuccessfully trying to shoot a pig for that fucking warm doublet.

GG just go to the top of the mountain, that's it.

I really need a horse at this point. Endless running is putting a downer on my time with the game
heading to kariko village now.

This is just great. I'm not sure if I can say it's better than it's N64 predecessors( I want to tackle a dungeon first), but it just feels so refreshing to play. It's overwhelming in a good way when I climb a mountain and see about five more areas that I want to reach, three or so that I  have no clue how. I've done so much but feel I'm scratching the surface.  I want to skip work for a week just to play this.  It's got the exploration and sense of discovery of Skyrim which I love mixed with the unique charm of Zelda.

I've actually put off of getting a horse yet because I'm really enjoying just wandering around right now. I love how you can climb up on everything, you don't have to search for particular spots to climb. In games like these I really enjoy seeing how high up I can climb. This game has some great verticality to it.

I don't really use my horses because they feel limited.

Really feeling it now I've been to two villages, those were my favourite parts of classic Zelda so peaceful and interesting. Also seamlessly transitioning indoors and out? Lol finally! Also do you guys die a lot? I just use the bomb runes. If they're chasing me I dump a square bomb lure them into it and blow em up.

Also, the switch screen is gorgeous. It even puts my tv to shame. It's also large enough and bright enough that I feel no comprises playing it via the screen.

Anyone find the switch Zelda gyro aiming a little off? Unlike most wii or motion plus games/Splatoon it nevers asks you to calibrate the center point. So you can whip your bow out and your aim is too low and you have to adjust it with the right stick.

Good point, I haven't tested it. Nothing I heard of before though.

Well, I wasn't intending to go into a dungeon yet, but I kind of stumbled into a quest to get there.

My god. Anyonetried the shrine with the ball rolling game? The motion controls suck and the platform is too short.

Pro tip:  turn the Switch controller upside down and the platform will flip too.  Then all you do is roll the ball down the path.  I actually discovered this by accident.  The pachinko shrine is amazing.

I rather liked that rolling ball shrine myself, it seemed to work pretty well with the Wii U pad. To get the ball to the other side I held the pad at a steep angle and then just before the end I quickly tilted it the other way to give it a bit of ompf to cross the gap.

I did that before you mentioned it and it still didn't work.

Maybe it works better on u? For a start it's impossible to do it in handheld mode as the screen is titled at sharp angles making it hard to see what's happening. Also the motion controls on this puzzle are slow unresponsive and unwieldy.

Other than the framerate, this is as ideal a Zelda as they could have made for my tastes sans....probably making the combat more up to snuff with the beat-em ups I like. The game is pretty fucking fantastic so far.
