Well the finale was good, I do agree this was not a great season from start to finish. I think they struggled with two things. The first was the cast got too big for them to really manage, and instead of just leaving some characters out in an episode, they always tried to cram them in for something that was ultimately kind of meaningless. And the second was just the overall vibe of the show. When it originally came out. It wasn't just a show set in the '80s, it felt like it was made in the '80s. That started to change in season 4, and in this season it just went out the window completely. They threw out a few '80s references to snacks and music, but it felt like a modern program in every other way. That didn't necessarily ruin it, but it took away something that made the show feel special.
