Him smoking on the chopper is amazing. The models are insane.

Definitely. I'm amazed at how far we've come with last gen. Maybe that's why this gen doesn't impress quite as much as I'd hope yet.
I mostly liked what I experienced. Ground Zeroes took me 1h39, but I played it for free. The 'paid demo' uproar doesn't compute with me, since it's still people choosing to do what they want with their money anyway. I originally watched a 1h20m playthrough on YouTube under the assumption I wasn't going to able to play it, and if/when I get PS4 and TPP doesn't come with GZ included, I'm pretty sure it'll be $5.00 tops within a year.
Some things that concern me:
- Guard hivemind. Reinforcements are no longer radioed in. Instead, a large wave of enemies decsend upon your exact location when you're discovered. So far this is a minor pet peeve as I haven't tested the AI fully.
- No boss fight. Actually, I'm a little worried about the use of bosses in TPP as well, as Kojima has expressed that bosses in MGSV would feel too video-gamey.
- Some objects pop in and out when zooming with the binoculars. Since the binoculars are such a crucial tool in the game, I'm hoping this is a bug and not lazy rendering.
- GZ uses fictional guns. I can't really fault Konami if they didn't feel like paying royalties to firearms companies, it just stands out when so much if the series is based around tacticool operation and weapons trivia.
- The slow-mo effect in rainy conditions looks way too cool. Crank it down a notch, Konami, I like breathing when I play my games.
Listen to Iced Earth and play Doom
Holy shit, there are some crazy Chico theories out there on Gaf. Actually, they kind of make sense in Kojima's world.

What that he is Ishmael? Perhaps. Better than the random doctor voiced by Sutherland is Ishmael.

No, that he is Quiet. There's certainly a resemblance. There's also a kid that looks like Liquid...Eli.

Holy shit. If he is quiet Kojima wins the sickest fuck award for game writing.
eli is totally liquid.
Funny, when I think of The Phantom Pain, I think of Leo's shoulder.
I love love the Deja Vu mission. I was bummed out that the main mission was so serious, lack of funny codec calls. All the quirky stuff seemed to be missing. Well the Deja Vu mission is all quirky crazy Metal Gear stuff. There are so many easter eggs, it focuses mostly on MGS1 but has plenty of call backs to other MGS games as well.
Vade, I want to record a segment with you on this, but I think you are long gone by the time I get home.
