Sweet game. I was surprised by how well this spin-off was handled.

Final thoughts before my review, the game is a very well made action game from a level design and pacing perspective. Almost all the complaints I had about DmC this game excells at. BUT the core combat while very good most of the time can be broken down at higher level play to simply a game of keeping your revengenace bar full and using it to quickly dispatch enemies. You almost can never get in a prolonged fight because on misstep can quickly lead to your death as you can get stuck it hit animations super easily. It makes every fight about getting the first hit in or trying your luck at a perfect parry which is very difficult. I just dont see the level of depth other action games have, it maybe there but I just dont find this system particulary engaging when fighting huge hordes. Its still very fun to pull off S ranks but I dont have the same satisfaction as say DmC.

This game has loads of content, I have put about 25 hours in so it is well worth it for any action fan. Just dont expect the second coming of Bayonetta.

Woah chapter 3 (or is it 2, the sewers) has a huge difficulty spike, awesome deadly new enemies. I am not sure about fighting so many enemies on screen, the camera kind of sucks.

The camera is a bit top heavy I noticed.

I had no idea this game was so well received on release.

I'm very interested in buying this, but is there an easy mode for wusses like me?

Yes, it's called normal, or hard halfway through. Nyaa

And there's also an easy mode as well.

It's too flat and not zoomed out enough.

It still demands more attention than most games on Normal. It's an old-school NES type diffciulty level.

I'm going to play the PS3 version after I finish Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3, and on hard of course.
