The Wii U controller doesn't look like it'll give me any problems. I do wish the right analog stick was above the buttons though. My all-time favourite controller is the 360, aside from the d-pad it's perfect. They did fix the d-pad later but I have yet to try it.

A lot of the problems I hear about the controller stem not so much as with the width and girth of the thing (which is dumb big) but how the touch screen takes away from the games because you have to move your hand either from the movement of your character or away from the buttons to fiddle with the screen. There is no way this works smoothly in any kind of actio game. Besides EGM various people I follow on youtube, and some friends of mine that went to PAX and tried it have said it was pretty bad. I mean I hope it turns out ok for you guys, but I don't have a good feeling about it which is why i'm staying away.

Archangel don't get Ninja Gaiden 3, I played through some of it with my brother and it is actually really, really bad. It is super boring and nothing like the other two. If you insist on getting it don't get it for full price.

Edit> you know what would be fucking awesome on the Wiiu? Turn based strategy gaming like FF Tactics. Yeeeees please.

Wii U Box collage is sexy.

The only bad thing about the U boxes is Nintendo is gonna ruin the back with like 5 different languages squeezed in there just like they did with Wii 1. lol

I don't think a heavy action game would ask you to do this unless it's for some special move or auto combo. If a game asks you to do this then it's badly designed.

Yeah it's a redone hardcore version tested by mario club with Nintendo input. New Ayane campaign, dismemberment, tougher AI etc. They are trying to fix everything.

I think it would be nice if Capcom would do something like Dino Crisis 4 on the U, with RE4 style gameplay.

So as you might have heard in Europe there is a ltd edition Wii U bundle with Zombi U instead of NintendoLand. There was some initial confusion in that retailers thought that it had both games.

So there are 3 skus, but if it's just Zombi U swapped for NintendoLand, then why are all the ZombiU bundles £15-30 more than the Nintendoland bundle? I did some digging:

Turns out that the Zombi U bundle comes with the Black Wii U Pro Controller

So you are paying £15-30 extra for a  pro controller, which I have no need for.

Wii U Browser info

The built-in webkit-based internet browser for Nintendo's upcoming Wii U system will have a host of new features, including HTML5 support, Nintendo revealed last Thursday during a Japanese Nintendo Direct that aired simultaneously with the North American Wii U Preview Event. HTML5 is an up and coming web standard that is slowly being adopted by the latest browsers and websites. For example, Youtube (which Nintendo made sure to feature support for in their video demonstration) has an experimental HTML5 version for users with browsers that support it and the necessary video codecs.

However, this HTML5 support is contrasted by the Wii U browser's lack of support for Flash, the latest versions of which are also not supported in the Wii, DS, DSi, or 3DS browsers.

Nintendo also revealed that when players pause their Wii U games and access their internet browser, they will have access to images of the tv and GamePad displays from that paused game. Player-created game screenshots are already known to be used in Nintendo's MiiVerse functonality. However, many details regarding using and saving the images are still unknown. When users pause a game and access the internet browser, the software will remember the paused game's name and prepopulate search queries with it to help users look for relevant information.

Nice touch.

Nintendo also showed video footage of other features of the browser, like tabbed browsing that lets users keep track of several web pages at the same time. The video shows another multitasking scenario where a Youtube video is opened to play on the TV screen, but the GamePad continues to browse the internet as usual even while the video continues to play. One final example is that Wii U owners can simply just browse the internet on their GamePad while the television displays regular programming.

Gamers can even simply tilt the GamePad forward or backward to automatically scroll up and down through long web pages. smiley

The web browser sounds quite good. Being able to browse while the game is running is very cool especially if a quick trip to gamefaqs is needed for the game I'm currently playing. Is the lack of Flash support due to the attempt to curb one's ability to play Flash-based games online?

Two rumours:

1. Nintendo is too cheap to pay for the Flash licence

2. I read that Flash discontinued support for some mobile standards recentely.

The system notes what game you are playing so when you go into the internet you can do a quick search on the game you are playing, pretty neat if you need fast tips. What I don't like is the keyboard is still only half the screen, they could have done full screen and larger buttons for easier typing. Instead you have to crack out the stylus.
