It's weird, but I might be getting this at launch provided I'm not being fucked up in the ass with the pricing over here. With my Wii now dead I have a sizeable game collection that will go to shit if I don't get a replacement, including games that I haven't even tried such as Xenoblade or Fire Emblem.
I'm interested in Mario U because of the possibilities of local multiplayer gameplay opened up bu the new tablet controller, also Pikmin 3 and Wii Fit U for my wife. I also want a black system but I know Nintendo is going to be an asshole and launch with only white.

One interesting thing is I don't know whether the Wii U comes with a sensor bar. I have read from a spanish rep that if you want to play wii games using IR on it you have to prop up the U pad in front of the TV and use the sensor bar that is actually on the top of the gamepad. Seems a little weird. Also we do not know if you can play wii 1 games on the U screen only.
The latter doesn't worry me too much. As long as U plays Wii games properly I'm good to go. The former does concern me a bit. Why not putting an IR sensor port in the back? Weird solution.
Any info about it playing Gamecube games?
The Wii U sucks. Fuck the kiddies, fuck Nintendo, and most of all, fuck all of you!

Be silent. Take your lady to the room in the back.
......
No but really, this thread made me .
Well done being put on the spot GG, you really didn't have to.

Well how the hell would you play Wii games on the U controller when they REQUIRE a completely different controller?

Gamecube is not supported...sucks. But, Most good Cube games should be getting the HD treatment anyway so who fuckin' cares?

It doesn't play GC discs but a rep did say that the best of GC would be availible digitally. There is an IR port on the bad of the U gamepad but apparently it's for transmitting data like to the Wii Fit pedometer or for controlling your TV like a universal remote. It does not have an IR camera port like what is in the end of a wii controller.

You make me make a thread, then post this!
The games I'm interested in are Pikmin 3, Mario U, Ass Creed 3, Rayman Legends and ZombiU. 007 Legends interests me but it looks disjointed being based on all the movies, I would rather have it based on one bond movie or just be an original creation.

I care asshole! I haven't played FE: PoR yet. D:

Not all games do. I could play Rhythm Heaven and Xenoblade using the gamepad. Fire Emblem, Metroid Other M, DKC Returns, NSMB and other stuff which doesn't use IR. Oh wait, Metroid has some IR in it. Guess you could substitute the gyro aiming for IR.
So who's getting one at launch and what games are you planning on?
I'm definitely grabbing one, no question. I also plan on picking up a Pro Controller & an external hard drive for it. Though I won't get the hard drive at launch as it won't be needed yet. I'm hoping for black at launch...tired of the Wii white shit, and I think launching in white would make it seem too similar to the Wii 1.
Games I am definitely grabbing are:
- Zombi U
- Pikmin 3
- Darksiders 2
- Assassins Creed 3
Games I am considering & interested in around launch:
- Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2
- Project P-100
- Rayman Legends
- Mass Effect 3
All in all, you really can't complain about the launch lineup...its easily just as good as the Wii, Xbox 360, or PS3 launches if not better.

Good point...hopefully games like Xenoblade are playable on the Pad.
Dude that lineup runs circles around the current gen lineups. Mario, Pikmin, Darksiders, Ass Creed, Mass Effect?
Like I said, I might get one at launch if its pricing isn't too shit.
On top of the actual Wii U games, I will also have these Wii 1 games waiting for me that I haven't touched yet:
- Xenoblade
- Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword
- The Last Story
- Monster Hunter 3 (barely played)
- Mario Kart Wii
- Metroid Prime Trilogy (only played through Prime 1 on it)
So yeah, I CANNOT wait for the U! Will probably be playing it exclusively for a few months.

Yeah the Xbox 360 had a solid launch lineup but not THIS good. It had:
- Perfect Dark Zero
- Call Of Duty 2
- Kameo
- King Kong
^I had all those at launch....and I think Condemned was a launch game too.
PS3 had um.....Resistance? Ridge Racer? And the Wii had Zelda and Excitetruck.
The Wii U is Nintendo's new Console due out this year, do I really have to type an intro? DON'T MAKE ME ANGRY
The console is roughly 1.5 times in length over the original Wii
This is the classic controller - optional.
The main pad is wireless and you can play independently of the TV. It has a touch screen and gyroscopes built in for motion, an IR port, camera for skype, wii sensor bar and mic built in. It also features clickable sticks.
