Second Trailer For Mamoru Hosoda's THE WOLF CHILDREN, AME AND YUKI

Mamoru Hosoda - the acclaimed director of Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time - releases his third feature on Japanese screens this summer with the arrival of the fantasy tinged The Wolf Children, Ame And Yuki.

Hana is a 19-year-old college student. She falls in love with a werewolf and has two children, Ame and Yuki. The four live quietly in a corner of a city, but Hana decides to move to the countryside when the father werewolf suddenly dies.

Hosoda has quickly built a reputation for himself as one of the world's premiere animators and early signs are this new film will do nothing but cement that reputation. A second full trailer has just arrived for it which you can see below.

Gary Ross Officially Passes on Hunger Games Sequel

But will the awful shaky-cam nonsense go with him? I F*CKING HOPE SO!

I wouldn't have minded it if it was for action scenes, but there's no reason to have shaky cam during a dinner scene.

I've been reading the book off and on. The problem I'm having with it are the characters; they are so flat and boring that I just don't care about any of them. Is the film better in that regard?

The problem I have with the book is the million japanese names you can never remember. The film is a better experience IMO, shorter, much more entertaining and the story resonates. The book is kinda dry. It's good but I think you've been plodding through it for a while and reading it in snippets?

Maybe if you watch the film then go back to the book you will have a better sense of the characters? It won't spoil the book either, the book is much more about detail than anything else.

The Avengers was screened yesterday and first reactions are out. No full reviews allowed yet so there is mostly tweets. Seems like everyone loved it. Many have an issue with the first two acts of the film but everyone agrees the final act is the most incredible superhero action ever put on film! Oh and everyone says Hulk steals the show.

I just picked up the collector's edition of the US Blu-Ray release a few weeks ago.  It's now sitting on my shelf next to the original novel
