Writers Needed

So progress is being made on the new iteration of the site, and as a refresher, the new format will have a weekly satirical front page of gaming "news."

The format to begin with will be a single main story, and one secondary story each week, and if available, a satirical review as well. Basically I'm trying to get a sense of who would be interested in participating in the process. If we had four writers, that would leave just one article every two weeks between everyone, which would be quite manageable. Each story also has a single image (small on the side story, larger for the main).

The format of submissions will also allow additional submissions that are less rigid in scheduling. Writers will submit a draft to the editor, who will then make minor changes if necessary, and from there either be approved and be used in a furture front page, or rejected and require modification or scrapping.

Again, just looking to see who's interested (and saying you are isn't any kind of commitment)

I am not a talented writer, actually I am pretty bad. But Foolz should be able to whip something up, we just let Steel ban him from G-spot and he has all the time in the world for us.

P.S. do we have a name and visual design yet? I could write a blog about it if we don't!

Did we agree on a weekly format? I thought we were going to have it daily with smaller write-ups of big news only?

I can do tidbits, but I'm not sure on longer things. I'm kind of busy at the moment.

The general weekly format from what I found was generally agreed.  I've simplified it as much as possible, as I said, down to just the two stories per week.

I'm interested in all writers, even if you think you're not all that adequate.  I do plan on acting as editor, so as long as you've got an entertaining premise, that would helpful unto itself.

I do have a name and design, but I'm not completely settled on it.  On the visual side, I'm just not sure the newpaper emulation looks good enough, and for the name, most good names are already taken several times over.

And yes, I was very impressed by Foolz' last blog.

oh, and if you don't have the time, obviously that's fine. I'm approaching this from the assumption of having no writers, and anything else is bonus. This is entirely a project of enjoyment.

and while I'm remembering things I left out, I'm not adamently demanding adherence to this 2 article maybe 1 review per week cycle, I just think it's a good start. If there were a good idea on which to base smaller write-ups or any other ideas, all the better. I do prefer the weekly format, though, as it allows for editing, less work per day and all that good stuff.
