I have fond memories of playing arcade games where they had massive machines rigged up to simulate skis and snowboards and surfboards and motorbikes. I would love to get this game if I had a balance board. But I'm not willing to buy Wii Fit to get it, or to pay the cost. The game can be played with just the controllers but that misses half the fun.

I would play it, maybe even enjoy it, but pay £70 / $140 for it? No way. If it was £20 cheaper and came with We Ski and Snowboard instead I would be all over it. You guys are lucky that there is someone you know with Wii Fit in the house.
