Here I am at home now sitting by my newborn son. We went into the hospital Sunday night and did not get home till nearly four days later. We didn't have any complications, he just didn't want to arrive. We were scheduled to induce Monday morning with hopes that he would arrive later that day. That did not happen. My
wife had contractions but that was about it. We hung out with friends and family, including my five year old nephew who was eager to see his cousin.
On Tuesday, my wife's contractions got a little stronger and by 11 am, she was given an epidermal. Thank God for whoever invented that. By 1pm, my mom and I had lunch in the cafeteria, unaware tha there was no cell phone signal down there. We got a call in the elevator that we needed to hurry because my wife was nearly fully dilated. Labor begun at about 2:30 and the baby was born at 4:27. My mother in law and I were allowed to stay during delivery and we actually helped with delivery. The doctor only showed up at the end and was basically a catcher's mitt for the baby.
Little J hasbrown hair, which was surprising because we both were born with blond hair. He weighed 7lb, 13 oz and is 21 1/4 inches long and he is absolutely amazing. I didn't get real emotional till the next day. It hit me like a ton of bricks.
There is no one I will love more than him, probably not even my wife. I can't explain it, but if you have a child you'll know what I mean. Just think of all the love you have for your family, that love will be multiplied by ten for your baby.
I guess one picture won't hurt.
We've finally found a way to get new members... eventually.
Maybe I can teach him how to type in a couple of years, just bypass cursive and manuscript.
