Remember when we had to pay for the alternate costumes for SFIV which was already on the disc? You know how developers do this sometimes. Even first day DLC can be bad even though it's not on the disc.

But Square-Enix takes selling DLC already in the game to a whole new level of disgust!

Gyromancer came out today on XBL. And I was excited about it, but after seeing
what they're doing, I'm not very excited anymore.

Check this out:

Gyromancer is already 1200pts. Now there's already first day DLC for an
additional 240pts which is three more stages. But when you look at the
download size, it's like only 220.02KB, which means that we have to pay
to unlock content already in the game! The game is almost $20!

Seriously, this is disappointing even for retail games but for a downloadable game?!

What the hell, Square-Enix!!!

@Robio

I didn't know they were doing that?

It figures though. I mean, they did charge $40 for Chrono Trigger DS!

Still mad at Gyromancer though since I was looking forward to it.

By the way, that FFIV thing is really despicable!

i think only bona fide expansion packs which are developed as such (and not just chunks of the game kept out of the original release) deserve to be paid for DLC like for example the two GTA IV expansion packs.

extra cars, extra costumes, even extra maps and weapons all ought to be free IMO

By the way guys, although I'm upset at developers doing this, I still got the game because I'm a puzzle addict.

The game is fantastic and even arguably better and more addicting than Puzzle Quest. Unlike Puzzle Quest, Gyromancer is more skill than luck which makes it more addictive.

Still, the DLC thing was stupid. SE should've waited a month to release them instead of doing it on its release day. And now I'm hearing that people can't access the extra maps, which is weird.
