IGN eyes on trailer and screens
A lone warrior chopping through an army of robotic warriors with an outsized Cloud Strife-like energy sword. Colossal war machines advancing though a misty canyon, shooting anything that moves. The few remaining human defenders hiding behind simple wooden shields that are no match for high-energy weapons. Welcome to the world of Monado.
The debut trailer for Monado: Beginning of the World premiered today at E3: 2009, and first impressions for the new Wii RPG are that the beginning is going to be pretty exciting. Things kick off with that canyon-set battle, revealing more and bigger enemies with an interesting steampunk design. Things likely don't end well for our lone warrior, as we soon segue to a young blonde hero discovering that energy sword - now inert - only to see it flash blindingly to life the moment he picks it up. Your standard JRPG Hero's Journey (tm) is definitely in full effect here, with just a dash of King Arthur.
Gameplay appears to be open-world, where you'll traverse lush jungles, glowing forests, climb sheer walls, and encounter the crumbling remains of a conquered people. It looks nicely textured and details pop, animating at what looks like a smooth 30 fps.
Players will pick up two partners in their travels, and while combat initially looks turn-based, we saw all three party members attacking simultaneously. Transitions into combat are completely seamless; characters approach enemies, draw weapons, and it's on. One scene showed your team (wielding much smaller edged weaponry) surrounding a lizard-man enemy, who didn't make much of a dent in their lifebars before it was downed. A much larger lizard-man (a good twenty feet tall) and giant mutant crab monster probably fared better.

Hit the HQ option.
Godamnit. 95% of the quests I have no problem with. There are a few quests which are a pain in the ass to complete. Proper Bandaz and Shimmering Forte? Heat haze and shooting stars? I tried, and nothing.
Then sometimes they tell you to go back and see (insert character name) and for some inexplicable reason they aren't even where they are supposed to be.
I'm not searching for the history of mechonis objects either.
I'm having problems with Cherri in Frontiter village. She has an orange ! mark for a mission but when I talk to her all she says is that it's another bothersome request from an annoying aunt.
Then it kicks me out of the dialogue and the ! mark remains and I have no mission?
Still got this problem. ^
I'm dicking about doing side missions to level up and face Ga**** in Agnithara. Wow, I didn't realise that there are even more missions in Colony 9 to attend to.
Also I cannot find Kurain and whats his face on Valek mountain. Where is 3 sages summit?
Try talking to her aunt.
3 Sages summit is difficult to find. You need to use use rock to melt some ice and then run on a narrow road and then do a huge jump. You need quick step gems to make you quicker and jump further. You should grab an edge and climb up. Find it on youtube if you have trouble. Don't take offense GG, but you suck at this game.
What is your level BTW?
Level 70
I think I have already been to 3 sages summit as I remember it. But I can't remember how to get back there. I did melt the ice at one point and travel along a think path.
Who is Cherri's aunt?
She is at the bottom I think. I need to check my affinity chart to give you the name.
P.S. level 70 is a sufficient level to beat the next 3 bosses without trouble.
I know but I can't be sacked, I'd rather do sidequests and level up a bit. It's basically the daze move G****** does which causes problems. I should equip some gems to resist it.
This is cool:
Just got right to the ass end of the game and it's blowing my mind left right and centre.
It's amazing, astounding, superlative, shocking. It had me on the edge of my seat in rapture wondering WTF was going to happen next.
And I'm still not done.
GOTY?
GG how far along are you?
Did you do the red pollen sidequest chain?
Maybe, but I haven't played that many games this year.
I'm right near the end, where the thingy and thingy start moving.
Two guys in Colony 9 asked for the red pollen orb so I went to Frontier village but I'm not sure where to find it. I am convinced that Cherri is glitching up my village quests, I have several quests unfinished because I am supossed to go talk to Cherri, but the woman won't close the quests out so I can get a green crown on the board.
Also, her aunt doesn't help at all, Rasha.
When you complete the game do you keep your stats or not? I hear you can keep some armour and stuff? Can you even use some of the stuff if your character is so weak in the beginning of the game anyway?
