I have no complaints about this game. There, I said it. No complaints. That will not make for an entertaining review, I grant you that, but it is the truth, a truth that I have experienced in less games than more.

Project Snowblind (which I respect even more for not having a sub-title like, Project Snowblind: The Blindening of Hong Kong) is a first person shooter that had the misfortune of being released the same month as Doom 3 and Gran Turismo 4 -- no wonder I did not notice it at launch. In the game you play the role of a soldier, who while under your control, becomes a bionic warrior. Various augmentations are granted as you progress through the game that affect your ability to shield, see, become invisible and shoot massive amounts of electricity into your enemies. Besides these skills you also get to control a large number of weapons. Some are amazingly cool, other are baffling -- I did not use a third of them on a consistent basis.

The story is a ripping tale of a madman who wants to improve human evolution by removing technology from the globe in the hopes that only the fittest will survive and breed. For some reason, the protagonist thinks this is a bad idea and so you play through the game to foil the plan. The game takes place in large part in a modern day Hong Kong, which is original and awesome (think Jade Empire meets Halo graphically). There are also levels in a sewer type location, a sprawling prison, and toward the end a large space-ship type complex.

The sound and graphics are beyond complaint, I was very happy with the symphonic sound track and voice acting. The writing was okay, there was one particularly cheesy scene, but having not had to rally troops while they were at the lowest point of morale, I am in no position to judge.

The finish was refreshing, with no large boss battle, but instead the best escape scene since Super Metroid. I enjoyed this game immensely and can think of only Half-Life 2 and the original Halo when it comes to FPS games I enjoyed more.
