I enjoyed this game at first, as always it is easy to get into a twin stick shooter. This game is a bit different from other shooters as your level is like a floating bugger shaped rock that rotates as you fly around it. You have to eliminate all enemies to unlock an escape spot to move to the next area. There are about 20 levels total, four bosses, amounts to a little over an hour of play. You have leaderboards and other modes like survival and arcade which are leaderboards for individual levels rather than the whole game. My issue with the game is that the scoring system and shooting isn't as compelling as Stardust or Geometry Wars. The levels and enemies get repetitive quick. Enemies are bullet sponges, the last thing you want in these games are bullet sponges. The score multiplier is simply weird making getting high scores not about your survival skills. If you are looking to play something on the Wii U I guess you can have some enjoyment but this game really pales in comparison to the best shoot em ups on the PS3 and 360. |
