Donkey Kong Bananza looks great and like it’ll be a lot of fun to play. The level of destructibility is pretty impressive. An easy day one purchase for me, can’t wait.
I love the texture work in DK Bananza. Looks like Nintendo pulled a Marvel and hid Pauline from us. Love it and have it preordered.
It was their tactic to spite those without the fate.
Join us, Robio.
Nooooooo.... I must continue living my hobo life with old PS5 games.
3rd parties seem unhappy with sales of their games on the Switch2. General concensus amongst gamers seems to be that that's what you get for porting old games and releasing them on gamekey cards.
Personally I think it's too short of a timeframe to come to any conclusions. The cost of the unit itself probably means most people didn't buy much more than MKW, which will heavily impact launch window software sales. Only those that released half assed efforts hoping to capitalize on that early drought of games will probably suffer in the end.
Are the kids alright?
Everybody loves palpating their turnips; just look at the success of Stardew Valley and its ilk for proof of that. But it turns out people really love some vegetable action, if the staggering success of Roblox game Grow a Garden is any indication, given it's seemingly smashed through Fortnite's previous gargantuan record for most players at the same time.
Let's break out some numbers. According to third-party monitoring tools, Grow a Garden - the specifics of which we'll get to shortly - soared past 16m concurrent players this weekend on Roblox (16,411,769 to be exact). By way of comparison, Fortnite announced record-breaking concurrents of 15.3m players during its Marvel season finale event back in Covid-era 2020.
And here I am hoboing PS4 Steamdeck in the internet download cap ghetto called Australia.
I can get Skynet or whatever Elon's thing is called, but it's more than double the cost of all other options. And I can afford it, I just cannot justify it.
Eh. People in the comments pointed out that there is no independent way of gathering per-game statistics in Roblox and that the developers themselves have been known to inflate numbers in the past.
Oh man, justice is such a burocratic mess. 7 years ago an extreme right group of 20-somethings was brought to light by journalists. They'd post all kinds of racist hate-spewing meme's and images and were actively trying to invade decision making levels to influence society. The leaders were brought to justice. The actual leader was studying law, has since been a member of parliament for the extreme right faction and is using every trick in the book to drag this on as long as he can, shouting how it's a disgrace, it's all free speech and he wants to be compensated for damages to him and his family.
Today he got 1 year in prision, non-effective and a fine of €16.000. This was after he appealed a first ruling that had a higher fine and one year effective. He just keeps spouting nonsense about how he's a victim, how it's a disgrace to society at large and how he will appeal even further, all the way up to Europe if he has to.
This man has wasted so much government money and people's times already. He looks like the epitome of the privileged white supremacist, the type you'd expect to join SS and enjoy torturing others. Stuff like this sickens me.
Really don’t think the Red Dead Redemption tease is going to be for a RDR3. Most likely for a PS5/XSX/Switch 2 versions.
That seems to be the Rockstar way these days.
But I had this feeling and Switch Force on YouTube did a video which was how I felt. I can't bring myself to buy a game key cards with no game on it. I just can't, it's almost like there's a psychological block there.
So why not just buy digital? Well I've never paid more than £25 for a digital game. And since I know they will be discounted I'd be happy to wait. But if the games were physically on the cart, even with a hefty additional download I would have probably bought one or two more games at launch.
If only because its a new console launch and I want new games to play on it.
I opted for Fast Fusion instead.
At least Capcom seem to be releasing a base version of SF6 and that niche Kinisugami game for £35.
So if they released ports of games I was actually interested in like RE I would have bought that.
I feel like people shunning game key cards are going to lead to publishers making the wrong conclusions. People want games, they don't want overpriced, empty licence key cards.
Yeah, I don't see how that's a shock to anyone. People just dropped 450 or $500 for a new console. They want something new to play on it. Most early adopters tend to be people who've had two consoles and have likely already played these third party games. Additionally, almost every one of those third-party games has been available for less than $20 on other systems. The base game for Cyberpunk has dropped to as low as $10 during some sales. For most people, if they wanted to play those games by now, they could have and they wouldn't have had to pay full retail price.
I listened to the segment where you and Vader discussed what kind of games kids are playing on the last game under episode. I think with gen z kids, and definitely Jen Alpha kids, they don't hang out and play in each other's backyard like they used to. Now they play a game online together. So games that allow for socialization and communication have a lot more additional value to them than they did for us, and in many cases, like Roblox, the social part of a game is even more important than the game itself.
