I love everything about tihs image:
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
- Docked: stable 30 fps and framepacing, max-out its dynamic res
- Handheld: same yet the issue is that the max dynamic res is low, so the end result is not that good because of the double upscaling (first one at 720p and the second one at 1080p)
Seriously awesome Rainbow road.
Music is just amazing.
Need to try knockout tour.
Can't get a hold of the rail riding. I find it so hard to prep the jump and line it up.
Fast Fusion actually has a jump button which works far better.
I just downloaded all the Snowrunner updates. Need to see if performance is improved on Switch 2
But the frame rate is uncapped between 40 to 60 and sits near 45fps most of the time.
Looks jittery to me, why not just lock it?
You guys might want to test out some Switch 1 games on Switch 2 via the tv there seem to be big improvements.
So Snowrunner, has butt long load times but seemed shorter on Switch 2.
I couldn't load up the main game as the mods weren't downloaded and if I continue the game deletes the trucks I've customised. One of the mods is taking forever to download.
So I tried the trials instead, short mission based gameplay segments.
The framerate seemed completely smooth. More impressive was the resolution seems to hold high virtually all the time.
Really need to get these mods working so I can see the main maps.
Edit - managed to load the mods and open the Maine map. Mods still make loading long.
Frame rate and resolution seem max though? It looks relatively close to PS4 version now. At least as close as its possible to.
Handheld resolution still low, needs a patch.
We need this soundtrack on Nintendo music asap.
My 7 year old Switch 1 Pro controller keeps randomly spazzing out. I don't think it's stick drift since I'm only playing Phantasy Star with the dpad. It'll be working just fine and suddenly it'll act like the dpad is stuck in one direction until I power off the system or reboot it. Weird. I played last night with my 8bitdo Pro controller instead for several hours without issue, so it must be something with the controller.
Vintage games and their nutty near-impossible to find secret walls. Phantasy Star has a few secret passageways in caves and dungeons, but there's nothing shown in the first-person camera that there's anything there. A few hints by towns people when you talk to them and that's it. Every wall looks exactly the same, except you can walk through a rare few of them. I likely wouldn't have found any of them if it weren't for my auto map showing me a greyed out passage when I walked by.
Admittedly I'm at a relatives WiFi but it's still fibre.
Took ages to download 10gb.
Now taking ages with a similar download.
I saw a video saying you can change the MTU value in settings to increase speed? I'm worried I'll f up the Internet settings on switch 2.
Like I said, MK took about fifteen minutes, but originally was over an hour. I changed my wifi and that helped. Honestly, fifteen seemed like a long time compared to the S1 download times.
Microsoft announced a handheld. Meh
Outer Wilds 2 will be Microsoft's first $80 game.
Games without HDR support look better without it. More colourful and brighter.
It's also a good way for MS to branch out without the risk on their shoulders. That handheld, the wings look ugly.
This weekend has been all Phantasy Star for me. I've made some significant progress. I made it third planet (out of three) after doing a quest to build a spaceship, scored much better gear for my party, especially for my magic user, bought a landrover and an ice digger, and I've lost count how many caves and dungeons and towns I've explored so far. For a 1988 game it holds up extremely welll; the more I progress, the more complelling it becomes.
I also finished the 7th and most recent installment in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. I'm about a year away from the next one being released, so in the meantime, I'm going back and listening to the series from the beginning.
This weekend it’s just been Mario Kart World for me in gaming. Watched Money in the Bank yesterday. Was pretty good.
