Sony controllers have had gyro controls since PS3 but it's rarely used in games. It's probably because most people don't want to learn to use it. Id like to use it for aiming, but the movement destroys my wrists.

Maybe if you modify the sensitivity, you could only make tiny movements using it?

The majority of Switch FPS use motion controls. And unlike the Wii, they all seem to work really well without much tweaking.

I don't think I've completed a dual analog fps on switch. I actually avoid them, even when bought.

I'd forgotten about cross gen games. DF are saying MK9 is probably a cross gen game.

So that's why it doesn't look massively better I guess. The specs have Switch 2 like 8 to 11 times more powerful than Switch 1 in raw power. That doesn't even factor in DLSS, SSD, the RAM amount and bandwidth.

Civ 7 floodgates have opened for new gameplay footage. 2K has allowed some YT influencers to upload 1 hour of gameplay yesterday. I'm  really liking it far. Lots of changes from Civ 6.

Now to decide which edition to get: $70 Standard edition, $99 Deluxe edition, or the $129 Founders edition? Hmmm....

Edge had a good interview with the civ 7 boss. Expect changes. They said they've limited themselves to only changing a third of the game. The new leaders aspect looks positive.

As a lifelong Atari fan, I'm quite happy to hear they're doing well now and were able to carve out their own profitable niche in the industry. 👍

Switch 2 reveal was very basic. Not much to show if you aren't showing the games, we knew it would just be like the switch again, no new gimmick. Doesn't help when the first game you show can be confused for the current Mario kart game. Like GG said, it's weird to do this with zero info, this was all pointless. Just a get off our backs till April 2nd.

Retro Gamer -- or Edge had a good interview with the young CEO. His heart appears to be in the right place and he has made some smart moves with what they cancelled and what they aquired.  Year before last they almost broke even, so it is good to see them head in the right direction.  Buying Moby games to preserve credits was smart, it could be as imortant as IMDB fairly soon. And buying Atari Age to ensure it lives on was a great nod to the community.

When I saw that we won't hear anything else until April I assumed they got the Australian dates wrong and surely what they meant was we'll find out more on February 4th.  Do they really think they can throw up a 2 minute teaser reel and then sit back for 3 months?  It certainly looked like a "Break Glass in Emergency" move just to shut down the leaks.

If I were them I would have sent to the third party publishers "if you announce your game ahead of our Direct, you are dead to us" e-mail.

Third parties should open the floodgates.

It's seriously looking like the best 3rd party support Nintendo’s had since like the SNES.

I've seen multiple videos of games running on switch 2 equivalent hardware (usually a lot worse) and it can run almost anything at 1080p looking good.

You shouldn't have these blurry ports anymore, though I imagine some will exist.

With Microsoft and Square Enix coming over and EA coming back there's tons of potential.
