I never said those were intuitive. We get used to it after playing for many years, that does not mean it is intuitive.

I haven't played the game, but it does sound a bit strange and cumbersome tilting the controller in various directions and pressing the same button for different moves in a game like this. Wouldn't it make more sense to use the control stick to denote what strike will hit? Up on the control stick and A is jumping attack etc?

No More Heroes had a high and low attack which had you tilting the controller in different ways, I couldn't really get used to it as it had me thinking about 2 things at once. 

I assume most people will use the Classic Controller for MH3 anyhow.

 Yeah, games which have control schemes like that, those which aim to use every freaking button of a controller annoy me. Big problem is that if I take a break from a game I have to re-learn the controls every time I boot it up. So inevitably I click the controls view in the menu and get to a pic just like that^

Ugh. 

I usually end up just pushing everything to see what it does, but that doesn't always work.
