NOTHING from PS3 is transfering to PS4, none of it works. You have to keep your PS3 to play PS3 stuff.
Plus is only required for online play, netflix and all other apps are usable just like always. There is no way they will change the PS3 online system.
As for the used games, DRM thing, Tretton did specifiy that the only things publishers can do is have online keys, limitations like that. Basically same stuff that has been happening this gen.
Cause most of us already have plus.
Bayonetta 2!!! WOW!!!!
That video was crazy! Best game shown for Wii U!
So where are the hidden gems of E3. Around this time each show there is some game that is hidden that becomes a media darling, where is that game?
Oh really?? Most of being who?? Because last time I looked you were just you, not 99.9% of gamers like you make it sound LOL.
I have PS+. It's an awesome deal.
A bunch of us on this site and GS who are PS4 owners. Me, rag, solid, raven, carnage, homer
He asked a question why there is no uproar, I gave the answer.
Ok so it's from most of us to a bunch of us now I got it. I would hardly say thats most of anything though...
Well yeah its probably not most, but a lot of the strongest PS supporters already have it. Now this situation does suck, I have always been against it. But the reason why this news didnt blow up so huge was cause a good chunk of the biggest PS fans have it already so its basically a non issue.
The service will pay for itself quick. It sucks that they are forcing people into it but you get so much content that you will be glad you did in no time.
Xbox One only works in 20 countries at launch
;">Gamasutra was able to speak to Scott Rohde, software product development head for Sony Worldwide Studios America to gain further clarity on the matter:
Flawless victory.
Polygon: The narrative I've heard is that EA lobbied hard to have the hardware companies come up with a solution so you guys are not faffing around with online passes and you're not losing potential used game profits to retailers.
Moore: "Absolutely incorrect. As the guy who is the chief operating officer of Electronic Arts I can tell you that EA did not aggressively lobby for the platform holders to put some gating function in there to allow or disallow used games. I am on record as being a proponent of used games. I like the ecosystem. I like the fact that it's kept pricing at a good level for eight years. I like the fact that someone can buy a physical game and see some equity in that game. That keeps GameStop vibrant and they are a great launch and marketing partner for us.
DAMN! Everyone trying to distance themselves as far away from MS as possible.
YES!!!! CONSOLE GAMING FOREVER!!!!
Plus he gets everything right about Nintendo.
What a beautiful, inspiring speech.

So MS reaffirming the sharing with up to 10 "family members" thing
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/06/microsoft-defends-the-xbox-ones-licensing-used-game-policies/
It's a "family" affair
Since its announcement, there has been some confusion over the details of sharing your Xbox One game library with up to ten "family members." Mehdi couldn't give comprehensive details but he did clarify some things.
For one, a family member doesn't have to be a "blood relative," he said, eliminating the extremely unlikely possibility that the Xbox One would include a built-in blood testing kit. For another, they don't have to live in the primary owner's houseI could name a friend that lives 3,000 miles away as one of my "family members" Mehdi said.
You'll be able to link other Xbox Live accounts as having shared access to your library when you first set up a system, and will also be able to add them later on (though specific details of how you manage these relationships is still not being discussed). The only limitation, it seems, is that only one person can be playing the shared copy of a single game at any given time. All in all, this does sound like a pretty convenient feature that's more workable than simply passing discs around amongst friends who are actually in your area.
So the same company restricting so much crap seems like they will allow game sharing. Which can be awesome. This could actually work out. The one play at a time thing will create a natural need for multiple people to pay for the game. Xbox is all about the online gaming experience, rarely is there a single player focused Xbox game. Everyone is going to want to play with their friends so if you friends are in the family plan sharing games you still would buy your own copy. Also with any big new release everyone wants to play it right away, so again it creates a natural need to pay for your own copy of the game.
Where this helps out tremendously is older games, non online games. If I know I can get an entire backlog library for FREE just from sharing with a friend, I would absolutely buy a One a few years down the road.
^No deal.
Cause I don't care about online gaming. Ubisoft's Crew and Division - bleh.
People already have it. Animal Crossing New Leaf.
I want to see what happens in the EU where it's illegal to restrict used sales.
Zeldainformer did a big analysis of Wind Waker GC vs U graphics:
Above you can see a direct comparison between the all new The Wind Waker HD and the original release on the GameCube. For the sake of keeping things even keel, I will be comparing the two versions using screen caps of the GCN version running in 720p on the Dolphin. Why use that comparison versus the original 480p? Simply because it's almost impossible to get a good screenshot in 480p since there are a lot of variables that can reflect the quality of the experience (such as the type of TV you play it on). Thus, it's easier to just compare the HD dolphin version to the HD remake. That means that it's important to note that the one major difference is that the original console release is in 480p while the new game runs in 1080p. Thus, there is actually a bigger resolution change than the following comparison screenshots will show.
In the first comparison above, you can already see several major changes that Eiji Aonuma himself touched upon yesterday. Anyone who truly enjoyed the colorful world of the original will likely enjoy the even more colorful world of the remake. Everything is more vibrant, and even the water itself has more of an "edge" to it, making the movement of the water itself much more believable. The sail itself isn't as round as it once was, but the clouds seem to be more realistic. One thing that is very noticeable, however, is the lighting. It is leagues ahead of the GCN version and finally shows some realistic characteristics that bring life to the world. Here, let me show you this even further.
You don't notice the lighting and shading so much on Aryll herself (she actually has less lighting it seems, though it's probably due to the slightly different angle of the camera. Rather, you can really notice it in the background with the grass. The shading and lighting is so much more evident now, making that grass just feel more alive. It's true what Eiji Aonuma said, this all new lighting really can make you "feel" things more, such as the temperature and such (not physically, but emotionally). You'll also notice the use of bloom, especially in the distance. I know for many this is a turn off entirely, but I feel bloom actually works well in this instance. Bloom itself is technically present in our every day life, but it's more so the haze we can get when looking at things in a distance due to the sun. Thus, I feel it also adds a nice touch here. In other art styles it can sometimes feel overused and out of place, but at a glance it seems to fit.
Oh, and the character models have definitely changed. Aryll's head appears to be more rounded out now, but most of the other key features remain intact. I can understand why some may prefer the bolder colors of the original Aryll on the right compared to the softer colors on the left. Still, this is the same game after all, and I think the minor changes fit in well with the color differences. Of course, we all want to see Link in action, right?
The HD version (which is on the left) has some vibrant color improvements, but in this scene the most notable difference is the inclusion of all the dynamic lighting and shadows. Again, I know it seems minor, but it just adds a lot to the realism of the world. Yes, realism doesn't just apply to "realistic style graphics", but to the living breathing world as well. The one change I notice that doesn't sit well with me is the search lights in the background. They seem much less believable as being lights and rather seem like some kind of lightsaber weapon. You can actually see through the lights on the right which is true of actual search/spot lights. It's a very minor gripe with what otherwise looks like a great upgrade graphically. I really feel these vibrant colors are more in line with the original vision of the game. So, what happened to Windfall Island?
Outside of being populated properly, we get a good look at Link's character and is full standing shadow (which is about as realistic in its shading as you'll find in a game). The buildings are now taller instead of flattening out in widescreen, and the most obvious difference is, again, the vibrancy of the world around you. It does seem we may have lost those "gusts of wind" you can see on the right in the sky, but they may have found other ways to show which way the wind is blowing - such as having the clouds move dynamically depending on wind direction. I can't stress this enough, but everything really does feel more alive. While you can see some bloom/blur effects in the background, it all feels natural. I know that to me, things in the distance always appear blurry until you get closer. I also feel Link's slightly-altered character model fits much better in this world. His older model just doesn't do the new vibrant world justice.
That's all I have for comparisons today. I had debated on doing some game clip cuts to show the GCN version in action compared to the The Wind Waker HD, but it felt redundant when still images do a fine job for now, and we can't truly get proper video comparisons until we physically hold a copy of the new game in our hands. What do you guys think? Do you like the changes?
So yeah, they have improved it, clearly.
3DS calender
So what was the point of Nintendo not having a conference this year? Iwata, Miyamoto, Reggie, Tezuka etc were all there, the booth was still setup, there were still hands on with all the games. They still did panels and interviews with everyone. WTF?
Bah!
At least DKC will be out end of this year and they can get on with a new Metroid afterwards.... hopefully.
I love how Lego city is spamming the demo booths lol
I don't get it, the conference video was gorgeous. Then you look at these direct feed Shadow Fall screens full screen here and it looks just average?
