Nintendo should buy everything.
Considering the quality behind the vast majority of their bigger games still to this day, in an age when most Japenese companies have gone bat shit insane, I vote a thumbs up to this statement.
Well, I've put several hours into Demon's Souls, and I'm still on the first level! This game is damn hard. The only thing that's unfair about the game is the crappy lock-on. It just doesn't work sometimes, especially if I'm in a small room. I've died a couple dozen of times just because I couldn't lock onto an enemy I needed to kill. That's frustrating. Other than that, the game is awesome. I don't think I'll ever beat it, though. If I manage to beat the first level, which will probably take me 20 hours at this rate (lol), then that will be enough for me.
What do you mean you are in the first level?
My reviews are up.
Huh? The first level after you finish the tutorial, and enter the Nexus. There's only one level that's unlocked at that point.
Oh ok, got you. I forgot you can enter the nexus before finishing the first level. Once you finish that all doors open and the game begins.
And then the game begins?
That is all easy stuff to prepare you for whats ahead, though certain classes make the first level near impossible. Use a guide if need be the game does a poor job explaining stuff to you.
Apparently, my choice of a female wizard is one of those classes.
But least she can shoot fireballs from a Harry Potter wand, which is just damned cool.
Well, I'm done. Demon's Souls is a cool game, but it's waaay too difficult for me. Glad I didn't buy it. Off to play something far less frustrating.
You can actually cheat your way through the game which makes it still hard but playable.
Anyone here try the Capcom Arcade Cabinet on PSN/XLBA yet? You download the 1.5GB Arcade Cabinet, and you get Black Tiger for free. Now that's pretty damn cool. Well, it would be except for the fact that the games look like shit on an HDTV no matter what settings you use. How come Sega made their 16-Bit games look awesome on HDTVs, but Capcom can't? The graphics are either extremely pixelated or very blurry. WTF? And they want $4 for each game, or a 3-pack for $10. I'm fine with those prices as long as the games look good and play well. This is the worst looking classic arcade compilation I've seen this gen. May as well play these on a PS2; it would be cheaper.
Okay, Black Tiger looks okay if you manually set the screen size to about half the default size. Still looks pretty rough, though. I swear Virtual Console games on Wii looked better on my HDTV than this game does. That's just wrong, Capcom. No $$$ for you!
Dark Souls II box art:
I bet you that guy dies when he takes the next step.
Hats off to you guys that play through Demon's/ Dark Souls. I've never felt so helpless in a game.
Yup. It requires a very rare breed of uber gamer, of which I am not.
Not really, there is a method to the madness. Its not like an old NES game that beats you over the head. Or some super hard mode on a FPS where you have to move at a crawl. The game makes sense and you simply need to learn from your mistakes.
