Just wondering, for those of you who have played Mario Galaxy 2, what did you make of the Mario 64 level in that game?

When I heard about it, I thought it was cheap and pointless. When I played it, I loved it, the visuals were cleaner but the controls and camera made it seem much more refined and polished and fun to play. I would love to play Mario 64 on 3DS/Wii/Wii 2 with these minor improvements. Mario 64 is one of my favourite older games, but the camera, controls and visuals are all a bit dated compared to modern mario games. Mario 64 DS wasn't great because the DS had no analogue stick.

Would you guys be interested in something like that? Perhaps a 3DSware release?

As sad as it sounds, I would gladly buy Mario 64 again with an HD graphical update.  The same for Metroid Prime and OoT.

Hell, if Lucas got me to buy Star Wars so many times, then it can work for Nintendo as well.

I do see the need to finish Enzio's story, but I really want them to focus on AC3 and make it something special.

Its starting to remind me of Ratchet & Clank. Yeah the games are consistently good, but its just overload after so many.

POP is burnt out now. I don't know what they can do to revive the series. I feel like Ass Creed is the natural evolution of POP.

I just read Iwata say that Animal Crossing, Paper Mario and Mario Kart 3DS would all be out this year.

Isn't Mario 3DS by the Galaxy team out this year too?

If they all release this year, 3DS is going to be all kinds of awesome quite soon. It's great hardware crying out for better games. I'd probably say it's Nintendo's best hardware ever aside from battery life and camera resolution which I'm pretty sure they will fix with 3DS Lite.

I don't mean anything like as drastic an overhaul as having HD graphics. I just mean like the way the mario 64 level was reproduced in Galaxy 2. Some of the textures were refined and it was cleaner but it wasn't drastically different. I think OOT 3DS is a much bigger change and that doesn't have anything near HD graphics either.

Then no.  I already owned several versions of Oot, so I want a big HD update.

Wild world was my first AC game so City folk was good fun for me and had just enough new stuff to keep me entertained. But if the next game is the same village..... ugh. I would have to think long and hard.

Have you seen all the 3DS comparison shots of N64 vs 3DS OOT? It's a large improvement.

It is and when I get a 3Ds, I'm sure I'll own it. *holds head down in shame.*

But I really want a HD update.

Yeah I just mean like what Microsoft has done with Rare's N64 games on Live. If we could get all the classics like that it would be sweet.
