Lord.....I hope there's more at E3 than a game to be played at fruity bars.
FPS are better on Wii: IN TERMS OF AIMING AND CONTROLS is what I am saying. 360 is obviously still the console choice for the hardcore FPS gamer because that is where the graphics obssesed FPS developers are. If you are talking online that obviously xbox live is where it's at however MOH2 offered a 32 player online mode on Wii. People can do these things on wii if they have the skills and motivation, I've played it and it works at 60 FPS with 32 players, quite impressive for the tech.
Again, I'm not trying to argue with you or anything, I didn't read your post, I haven't seen any gamespot thread in weeks, I am not a gamespot poster anymore. I'm saying that if there are still people out there (in general) who are still sort of dismissive about what IR and motion control can offer, then I really doubt that they have even tried out and sampled or put the time into a decent, varied selection of games.
I don't know how accomodating your neighbour is but again (in general) I have heard many threads from people in the past who have played wii at a friends or borrowed one for a couple of days and then just assumed that that was it and they couldn't get the controls. Or a friend of mine that had a paltry selection of titles and didn't get the chance to have extensive play with the good ones.
The point that I think is lost on many posters (again in general) is that if there are bad controls in a wii game it's not neccesarily because of the controls, but because of the game itself and the developers. If there is a Xbox game with crappy character controls, you don't take it for granted that the stick is an inherent piece of shit and that you would rather stick to a d-pad. You say that game X has crappy controls.
^THOSE ARE MY GENERAL IMPRESSIONS, NOT TALKING SPECIFICALLY ABOUT ANYONE IN CASE YOU MISSED IT *thumbs up*
The one thing I really don't get is this lightgun comment that keeps coming back to me from you HiRes, it sounds like you're saying that all IR can work well with is lightgun games and from my experience, I just can't understand that, at all.
Why does Nintendo keep making controllers without grip wings?
On the positive side, though, I do need another GC controller or two, and this might work as a decent wireless solution, however clumsy.
Double mind blown.
You're still quoting wrong. Try clicking your mouse down near where it says Path next time. You'll see what I mean. Anyway, its not that easy really. I got my ass handed to me in MOH Heroes 2 hardcore. Its a lot like PC with mouse& keys.
I would hate to be on Gamespot boards for this one. Especially system wars.
I still think its best to have 2 different controllers.
lol... I like it. *runs to photoshop*

Yay we are Kotaku! Now lets post this on gaf.
Ooops, I meant ymi. Yomi was kinda annoying.
Really you are looking at the wrong games. Sure REUC works great as a lightgun game, accurate as hell and fast too. But really games that use the controller and IR the best are Elebits undoubtably, check out my gamespot review to see why, Trauma center, Boom Blox, Metroid Prime 3, Medal of Honour Heroes 2, zack and wiki, maybe okami too.
From your zelda experience I'm guessing that pointing and clicking to select items was as much as a joy as it was for me as well as the seamless and fast, accurate aiming in that game?
Nice drawing. But I see your point. It could work easily.
You click to the bottom left of someone's quote and your reply gets put on a left alignment you see. Just click the corners.
I don't understand the argument of the aiming would be too easy for online shooters on wii. The PC is generally accepted to have even more accurate controls for FPS's at least over wii. And yet the online FPS market still works and is thriving on the platform. I have personally sunk quite a few hours into MOH2 online mode against 32 players and the aiming does not make anything easier. The thing about wiimote FPS aiming is that the game is reliant on skill and reactions, so for instance the difficulty in that game in the single player was cranked up and the game is a real test of skill.
More skilled players on the online mode of MOH2 kick the living shit out of me.
The same can be said about mario kart, the wii wheel is suppossed to somehow dumb down the experience, but christ, the skilled players can skill beat the pants off anyone.
Exactly.
Some games are gonna control like ass, on any platform. ESPECIALLY one with a totally alien control interface like Wii.
For the record. I am going to totally try and hoax some fools with my PS3mote.
"When I was around her, I felt like a goblin made entirely out of wicked genitals"
Sweet, your will probably turn out awesome, cant wait to see it.
Ohh James Bond footage, nice updates.
Oh yeah Beaveroonie I wanted to give you a metroid prime 3 hint if you didn't know already which I'm sure you did. If you hold down, I think it's either the Z or C button it freezes the screen so you can get pixel perfect lightgun style aiming. Kinda like goldeneye when you held down the button and the red target appeared on screen.
Otherwise you can leave the controls on standard which gives you larger bounding box but with more accuracy in the center of that box but I don't need or want that.
Very true!
WTF? IGN is now saying that Monster hunter 3 will not be at E3.
That made my balls tickle.
Looks better already than any of EA's Bond games. I'm excited. Love the 3rd/1st person dynamic.
Okay....you know when you're about to start replying to a quote? See how its aligned to the middle of the box? You want to click on the left side of the person's words about a line below where they left off. If you do it right, your cursor will appear on the left side and below that person's words, and you're ready to type. If it didn't work, your words will also be in the middle alignment.
