When they first invade you have no notification but there are hints, you will put away your phone and the pause menu does not freeze the game. Then you just need to be observant, drive around and see if anyone is following you. If they start the hack then just run around till you find them, many times they are hiding in a car so they can get away if you spot them.

I had one invasion and the dumbass jumped into the water when I spotted him.

Not sure...I think so...somehow. It doesn't seem to effect the game in any way though, even if somebody beats you. Its not like Dark Souls where some ashole can come in your game and kill you and force you to backtrack to get your loot back.

Yes you can in the options. But they dont effect you really.
I should get back to Watchdogs, but online racing is too much fun. I had a ton of fun fighting gangs last night. Can anyone ( Bear?) tell how accurate the map is?
