Currency. It costs 18000 for your first house, 3000 for a Mii makeover. You can make 3000 by selling 5 fish. Collecting fruit is 100 bells per fruit.

There is this whole financial system behind the game. I think you will get more out of this game as there are 4 houses you can inhabit in the game, so your daughter for instance can live in the same town as you and you can swap presents and send letters. Uh oh, if you connect up online though you might get some saucy letters and risque catchphrases though. I taught my Hippo a new phrase: "Ballsacks" and he yells it out whenever he speaks. LOL

I see. Sounds rather deep. Deceptively deep, by the looks of the game.

Do you have a Hippo? Does he yell Ballsacks? LOL

MINE!

Yay! I finally got an axe today! Woot! Now I can chop down some bothersome trees!

I hate the Stalk Market. I paid 107 for each of my 30 Turnips, and Nook's buying prices keep going down! It's now at 58 bells. WTH? What is Nook buying them for at your town, GG? I'm going to update my signature daily with Nook's Turnips prices in my town, so if you see a price you like, you can come over and sell your turnips at my town.

I sent every animal in my town a letter (that's 10 letters, people!) with a gift, and not one of them sent me a return letter or will even mention it when I talk to them. What a load of crap! I want letters and gifts, dammit!

GG, did you get the two letters I sent you yesterday? There's two pretty awesome gifts in there. Oh yeah, thanks for the stripped cone!

I have something really cool for the auction on Saturday. I'll keep it a surprise for now, but it really is pretty awesome. Happy

I planted a pitfall seed right in front of my grape ape, and she walked right into it! She got very mad, and asked me "What's wrong with everyone in this town!" LOL Priceless.

Oh, lol. Why are root veggies so important in the game's economy?

On Sunday mornings from 6am to Noon, Joan comes to your town and will sell you red or white turnips. This is part of the Stalk Market (AC's version of our Stock Market). Turnips are AC's version of buying shares in the stock market. You have to buy white turnips in bunches of 10. You then go to Nook's store daily to see what he's buying the turnips for. If the turnips are selling at a higher price than what you paid for them, then you make a profit. But if they are selling lower, then you may loose some your money. It's also good to know that turnips will rot after 7 days, so you have to sell all of your tunips by the following Saturday or they will become valueless.

If you buy a red turnip, you can plant it somewhere in your town, and water it everyday for 7 days. If you miss a day in watering it, it will die. But if you water it everyday, and dig it up on the 7th day, then you will get 15,000 bells for it at Nook's store.

LOL It's quite simple the cash situation. There are no objectives in this game. The one motivating factor is collecting and collecting requires cash and space and there are ways to make sure you make money as fast as possible. But if you overdo it you will be too rich and lose motivation to keep playing.

If you see another axe, send it my way. I like the turnip market, I paid 102 bells each and today Nook was buying them at 162 each. What gifts are you sending? And how long have you waited for a reply? I sent you a Space Station, that's worth over 3000 bells. I want that frog statue!

LOL you got the ape? Show me a pic!

I ordered a second lucky frog statue from Nook, and sent it to you last night. I also sent you a blue dresser which can hold 160 items! Hmm, you should've recieved both letters by now, I think. I haven't recieved that Space Station yet either. Damn Animal Crossing's slow mail carriers. Sad

Unfortunately, I didn't get a pic. It happened too fast. She didn't say anything until she got out of the hole either; I was hoping for a scream like that pic you posted earlier. Nope, I only got chewed out afterwards. Sad It was still funny, though. LOL

You press Button 1 on the Wii Remote to take a pic, and then press Button 2 to save the pics to an SD card.

You guys are really making me want this game, but I still don't want it enough to pay $80.
Is Wii Speak necessary or vital to the game at all or can I just get the $50 game by itself? You're talking about typing a lot... is there a lot of in-game typing or just online?

Wii Speak is not vital to the game. It's just a nice addition to it. You can use any PC USB keyboard for easy typing for letters and online chatting or you can use the in-game virtual keyboard that's nearly identical to the one used on the Wii Message board/Opera browser.
