Best bet is to watch/buy the entire series of Spiderman 1995 series, Justice League/Unlimited, Batman the animated series, Wolverine and the X-men and Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes.

I was going to watch Hulk VS but I hated the art style and stopped. I watched the Dark Phoenix saga from the X-Men cartoon instead.

I didn't get to finish it but Batman Year One was amazing, the parts that I saw.  Think Batman Begins, but more mature.

Saw Batman Year One tonight, didn't like it that much. It was all over the place, the cuts were so often and sudden. Its has practically nothing to do with Batman, its a Gordon movie. Catwoman is there for absolutely no reason. There is no development given to the Gordon/Batman relationship. It tells you nothing about Batman becoming batman except a quick scene.

Nice animation and the action moments were good but I just didn't care for the story at all. I know its unfair to compare a cartoon movie to a big budget movie but Batman Begins did all this so much better.

I saw an episode of Wolverine and the X-Men, ok I think I will give it a shot. It will never replace my beloved 90s cartoon though. Why don't they make X-men cartoon movies?

Under the Red Hood and the Dark knight returns is better.

Planet Hulk is much better and different from the Hulk you know and hate. It's more like Gladiator. Vs Thor is a good movie, especially if you've seen lots of Avengers. Vs Wolverine is kinda super violent and not that great. Tales of Asgard and Planet Hulk are the best marvel movies and the Next Avengers is good but only if you've seen series 1 of the Avengers.

Make sure you watch them in series order.

Marvel had an animation deal with Lionsgate and since they were making Wolverine and the X-men they decided to do other movies as they only had a finite number of movies in the deal. They made two Ultimate Avengers movies but they aren't great, they are okay. The movie deal with lionsgate ended I believe. Dc animated features are done by the same guys that did Batman and Superman TAS and Justice League they are usually very good. Wonder Woman is surprisingly good. All Star Superman is probably the best. Green Lantern First Flight, Superman Doomsday, probably the worst. - and by worst I mean average, never bad.

I think I may see some Superman tonight, get myself ready for the movie. All Star Superman was there. The DC cartoon movies seem to have their act togther while Marvel cartoon movies seem to focus on just Avengers. Thats funny cause its the complete opposite with the live motion pictures. Where are the Spider-Man cartoon movies? Fantastic Four? Why not big crossover event movies like Infinity Gauntlet?

What's good about DC is that they basically adapt famous graphic novels with good stories. Which is probably what they should do for live action instead of trying this reinvention trilogy BS.

Thor would make an awesome tv series, Tales of Asgard and all the Asgard stuff in Earth's Mightiest Heroes is excellent.

Saw the first episodes of both Avengers and Wolverine. Are these based on the movies more than the comics? Iron Man seems like a bad Downey Jr impersonation. Hulk is not really an Avenger, he was an avenger for like 3 issues. I saw the episode listing so it seems like the show has awesome plots at least.

Wolverine and Rogue what is that? Thats from the movie, Rogue and Wolverine have no past. Prof X better show up. I see that the first season ends on Phoenix which could be interesting. Does this show get into more modern Xmen stories cause I dont know those. Stuff like Age of Apocalypse, House of M. Nevermind I just looked it up and the show was canceled before they got to that. So this just covers stuff the older X-Men cartoon did.

I guess I'll watch avengers.
