Though it should be readily apparent, I updated some visual aspects, and added the date the user joined the site.

Looks good. Like the borders. I hve foun your propietary board to be superior to the available off-the-shelf versions, in this regard I have no suggestions.

As you can also now see, the comment voting, hiding, along with number and date are all above the comment text, allowing for a larger user sidebar, and larger avatars.  You have to reupload in order to get the larger avatar.

Perhaps a new record in the long overdue category, you can now change your timezone under Account Settings.

I like it. Can you add mouse-over text to explain what they are (the little symbols). Awesome job Yoda.

Signatures are updated Happy

I think points speak to people more than rank.  I've also added the code to copy from the page where you set your own signature here.

The GG Weekly update form has been moved to the GG Weekly page itself.  New articles and edits nolonger require a page refresh to reflect.  This should make posting news more inviting, as well as editing much more convenient.

Yeah, it's a good idea and well-implemented. I always would go back to the ggweekly page after submitting (so I could check for a story before submitting another one).  And yeah, it should really make it clear to new users that they are invited to post articles.

It had been a priority update that I'd been putting off for a long time, because I made a bit of a mess with the original one.  It lived up to the expectations.

I think I've gotten a new project out of that update, too -- make my own JavaScript RichText Editor, because every single thing I try to do with these editors is a nightmare.

Yeah, I'm using the light color scheme. Looks good. I'm now seeing the Niceditor in the headline section of the submit articles form.  Just letting you know if you didn't do that on purpose.

Yes, the editor is there so that if you copy and paste a linked title of an article into the editor, it will grab the link and autofill the link box (doesn't work in Opera).

EDIT: oh, I see, the toolbars are showing up.  Now that part was not intentional.

New option in your user settings: Hide previously read comments.  Any posts that you've read before on GG Weekly or the forums will be hidden by default if you check this setting.

This is one I really recommend trying.  It's very convenient, cuts down scrolling and helps the bandwidth usage capped among us.

^An observation about that new feature (which I have activatd on my account). Let's say I'm on the current page of GGWeekly logged out and there are only two articles, say comments 1200 and 1201. So I log in. I then go to the previous page to see the messages that led up to 1200 (which I have not seen).  Those appear  to be hidden (even though I've not seen that entire page).

This makes sense if you are hiding them based on the reasoning that if I've seen 1200 I must have seen the comments numbered lower than that.

In thinking of a way around this, perhaps a "Show All" option to unfold all the comments on a page?

Not sure it needs attention, just letting you know about it.

Yeah, I know.  It's impractical to store every post you've read as opposed to the latest.  Show All's a good idea, or Show All After.  I also thought of having the option to selectively disable it for GG Weekly as another way of doing it.

I know, I know.  I've been putting it off for far too long.  I'll bump this to to the front of the line.

Something like the lit smiley icon at gamespot where you could tell who was online would be cool. But not if it requires invasive cookies or privacy invasion or IP logging type stuff I guess. I have no idea how it works.
