Need to transfer data from one laptop to another via Sharing folders - wirelessly
You didn't mention which operation systems you are using, so I'm going to assume your using Windows Vista. When two or more laptops are connected to the same
network at the same time and are powered on, Vista will pop-up a message asking you if you
want to setup sharing or something similar. Follow on-screen steps on
both laptops, and you should be good to go.
If that doesn't work, and again assuming both laptops are running Windows Vista, open the "Public folder" by searching for it in the "Start" menu; this folder is where you will put the data you wish to share with other computers. Then click "Sharing Settings" at the top of the screen. This will open your "Network and Sharing Center." Enable "Public folder sharing" from the list of options. Follow all of these steps again on your second laptop, and it should allow you to share data between them.
Not sure how to do it if you are running a different OS, or are mixing OSs, like sharing between a Vista laptop and a WinXP laptop, but it should be similar.
Hope this helps. If not, PM Yoda!

How to configure file sharing in Windows XP
File Sharing Essentials - Vista
It's been far too long since I've used WinXP to try an explain how to do it myself, but these should explain things well.

Damn, I think Yo linked that first one before. Too complicated.
In that case, I'd recommend searching Google for easier guides.gamingeek said:Ravenprose said:How to configure file sharing in Windows XP

Anyone got the fools guide to? And I mean FOOLS
I hear I have to set up a network? Then set the folder on the laptop I want to share to shared?
Then on the laptop I want to transfer the data TO, what do I do to access the other one?
