I just stumbled upon this pretty cool feature and its sister article.
It's cool, it has little sample music videos of the music from the Vita and 3DS in built menu music.
Here is the Vita article which came first
My take on the music:
Home Screen Music - so repetitive it drives me mad, it makes me want to get off the home screen pronto.
PlayStation Store Music - I like this one, reminds me of the 3DS music, very plinky, plocky and not intrusive. Love when the horn comes in.
Near Music - Sounds a little like Go Vacation music. I like it but it sounds like it would get annoying.
Parks and Recreation's Amazing Theme - Very cheery
"Hutts and Recreation" - WTF?
Here is the 3DS one
Home Screen - ambient, which is okay as its not annoying and on a home screen you don't want to be constantly assaulted with a repetitive drone.
eShop - gets me in the shopping mood. Very pleasent.
Mii Creator - this is fucking awesome. So Nintendo, catchy, personal, distinctive, cheery.
Mii Plaza - Jazzed up version of the Mii creator theme, cool beans
Health and Safety Information - Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh
System Settings - very pleasent, don't know why but it makes me think of Endless Ocean scuba diving. It's nothing special but very relaxing.
And I think there are more in the series of this Kotaku Melodic feature, so keep your eyes peeled and post them here if you got em.
