Now when cartridge-based games have their batteries die and the save systems get killed, that makes me sad. I don't think there's many functioning copies of Pokémon Gen 1 games anymore. Yay for emulators I guess?
Most of those cartridge batteries are very easy to replace if you have that special screw-driver

You know, for as many battery carts as I have had they have never failed. They are easy to repalce though, the batteries are availble at most North American pharmacies and elsewhere from watch shops.

But that's a lie. There is always someone playing it. Okay, not on the periphery of games, like Binary Domain, but for something like a sports game or Halo 2, there are always some contingent that wants to play.

Peer to peer needs to be the default for when the remote server cannot be connected. IMO.
