Reposted from the news section...I really don't wanna call Ubisoft cmon Yoda help me!!!

Maybe Yoda or one of you guys can help me out here.

I'm having a problem getting my Ubisoft games to play on my PC. It started out a few days ago....I went to try and play Blood Dragon and for some reason it just kept freezing on the loading screen. So I redownloaded the entire game...still the same problem.

This is where my current problem comes in. I then deleted my entire Uplay folder and reinstalled Uplay, thinking it was an issue there. Now, NONE of my Ubi games will play, whether through Uplay directly or Steam or anything. I just keep getting this message:

"The program can't start because uplay_r1_loader.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

So I have tried doing exactly that, reinstalling the goddamn program, like 4 times now. And the problem doesn't go away....uplay is basically broken and will not play anything at all. I tried googling a solution, and saw others with the same problem but no solid answers. I'm getting a bit pissed here. You'd think reinstalling the entire service would fix any missing files no?

Can't Ubisoft help?

There was a GAF Watch dogs thread where a PC guy said he was never buying another Ubisoft game again on PC.

Uplay is a mess, I wish they would get rid of it, along with EA's Origin, and just release games through Steam. Uplay on PC isn't the same as what it is on consoles. On consoles its just a stupid little extra to unlock extra goods for games (that you could just get without uplay, but whatever). On the PC Uplay acts as a service for their games so it has complete control. Its basically a DRM service.

Could Ubi help? Yes I'm sure, I just don't feel like talking to them if I don't have to. lol

Yeah to me it just unlocks a few perks based on what you acheive in the game. It doesn't even need to exist the game could do it for you.
