How could anyone say no?

Even fucking retarded bots are better than no bots. There's a sick pleasure in building a long tunnel in Timespitters spawning as many bots as possible then killing them all the a chain gun.

 Quote for truth

Or in the case of Yoda and I, making a tiny room with sloped walls in Timesplitters 2 and having brick-only fights with a dozen bots.

Agreed. But I've actually heard people say in other forums that they don't want bots in their games. One example that comes to mind is when Halo 3 came out, I remember some guy asking if it'll have bots, and the whole thread turned into a "bots suck" thread. I don't know why some people hate bots, but they do. I can understand not wanting bots in an online game playing along with real people, but saying no to offline bots is just crazy.

Also quoting for truth in this case. Bots having poor AI can easily be made up for by increasing their level of difficulty until they have terminator-like reflexes and aim.

First off, Halo fans don't know what they want, which is why Bungie keeps having such an easy time releasing games for them. I had originally written a big explanation as to why bots in Halo 3 would be a bad idea, but in the end 'bad bots are better than no bots' still applies, thus I just deleted it all. Basically, Bungie probably didn't see it worth the effort to add something that most people would laugh at, but also something that wouldn't push Live Gold memberships.

Well, if Halo 3 did have bots, I would've bought the game instead of  just renting it.
